- Can't trust the information in this book!
This book is short on detail and not particularly clear. 2 examples:
The location of the bus station is wrong. The map shows the location of a bus station/depot but not the main bus station. We almost missed our coach back to the airport because of this!!
Not so important but summing the book up...in the shopping section it suggests- "If you're looking for a gift , it's well worth visiting Lush...where you can buy their own handmade soaps, cosmetics and hair products". We were in Dubrovnik for a week and didn't see 'Lush' although I'm sure there is a 'Lush' on my local high street in the UK (and every other for that matter)

- Getting the best from Dubrovnik
I have been much more than happy with this great little companion - and found it invaluable, eminently portable, reliable, and it led me and my husband to some fascinating, amazing things in the city - Piers Letcher's recommendations never disappointed. I will definitely be buying Bradt guides again and have already recommended them to a number of people. A great new resource!

- On the money
This is a must have for anyone holidaying in beautiful Dubrovnik.Piers Letcher is an excellent author, his reviews of local places to eat were spot on.He didn't shirk from describing the places to avoid either.
There are a few suggested tours to follow which I found very helpful. My girlfriend and I would definetely buy a guide from this author again.

- The Perfect Companion in Dubrovnik
This is an excellent little guide to Dubrovnik. The restaurant and sightseeing recommendations are first class - especially the "inexpensive" restaurants - excellent value and quality. Nice line in wry observation as well. Only two gripes - inflation has kicked in on the quoted prices, and kunas are a better option than Euros for general spending. All in all though - best bet to help you explore Dubrovnik.

- Excellent Guide.
Like the reader from Lincoln (below), I've just returned from a week in Dubrovnik. However I have to say we found this guide excellent. On the subject of walks, no general guide book can possibly give detailed instructions; Piers Letcher does in any case make clear just how difficult the walk up to Mount Srd is. The maps are as good as you will get in what is a very compact book (just about possible to squeeze into a pocket). Indeed for its size it's full of information. And there are nice touches of humour. Inevitably one does disagree with some opinions, and restaurants/cafes open and close, but the publishers do invite comments to keep the thing up to date.
I also found the Rough Guide to Croatia very useful, but that's a much bigger book. For a handy sized, all-round guide to this glorious city I thoroughly recommend this Bradt Guide.
