Rating: 2 of out 5 - Croatia

I was very disappointed with this book because of the lack of photos, I know the information is what I bought the book for but for me a travel guide is all about what I'm going to see, the landscape, architecture, colour and vibrancy of a place and photos are immediately inviting.
Appearance isn't everything of course but the deflated feeling stayed with me and we still haven't booked the holiday!

Rating: 5 of out 5 - A must

I found this an excellent and accurate guide. Because of this book I was fully prepared for my holiday. It is a must have for any traveller going to Croatia. I was able to learn about the money, the people and the culture beforehand. I was able to plan for my visit and the knowledge gained equipped me to make the most of my holiday.

Rating: 5 of out 5 - A comprehensive, accurate and entertaining guide

I found this Bradt travel guide more comprehensive and accurate than many of the Lonely Planet or Rough Guides I've purchased in the past. The author seems genuinely interested in the country and I enjoyed reading the funny accounts of his experiences - both good and bad. The Practical Information section is particularly useful (I did't realise I needed vaccinations to visit Croatia until I'd read this!)

Rating: 5 of out 5 - I share the author's love for Croatia

..after just one recent visit (I also picked up the same author's book 'Zagreb' on the same trip). I can heartily recommend both books.

Rating: 5 of out 5 - Croatia's Kornati Islands

We have just returned from a week's holiday in the Kornati archipelago in the Croatian Adriatic, taking this book with us. We found it an excellent companion, helpful and illuminating on everything from Croatia's history to the abrasiveness of the limestone rock which makes up the islands. The maps are excellent and very clear. Above all the author's affection for the country shines through and is very infectious.
