Editorial Review

Anthony Horowitz's fourth fictional foray into the world of British spy agency MI6, Eagle Strike, sees teenage sleuth Alex Rider once again fighting ingenious villains and charming every girl he meets. Eagle Strike, starts out calmly enough with Alex and his lovely companion, Miss Sabina Pleasure, on holiday with her family in the south of France. But before you can say Goldfinger, he spots his old nemesis, renowned assassin Yassen Gregorovich, on the beach. Alex discovers a plan so diabolical that it makes all of his previous adventures seem like a stroll in the Queen Mother's garden. Alex must fight to keep Gregorovich from executing the plans of a mysterious and murderous madman--an operation code-named "Eagle Strike". He will just have to face down a few minor complications first: a virtual reality game that inflicts real pain; a fleet of Porche 911 GT3-driving hit men; and even a near-fatal brush with death aboard the most famous aircraft in the world, Air Force One. Eagle Strike, as with all the other ridiculously fun Alex Rider adventures, is a pure pleasure from start to finish. Even the most reluctant of readers won't be able to resist Alex's Bond-like ingenuity and charisma. Anthony Horowitz is a master of pacing, and as Alex swings from one cliff-hanging chapter to the next, Horowitz proves that you don't have to be Shakespeare to pen a crackerjack plot. --Jennifer Hubert, Amazon.com

This is the first Alex Rider book I ever read and it is all out amazing like the rest ot the books. It starts while he is having the vacation of his life with his girlfriend Miss Sabina Pleasure. Suddenly he spots the man that killed his Uncle Ian Rider. Soon he finds out that the Contract Killer is working for Damian Cray a pop idol that evreone loves and adores. when he finds out the plan he trembles at the idea of it all.He goes to MI6 but they do not believe him because Damian Cray is aganist everything that is unjust. Everyone says he is crazy and gone mad,Even Miss Sabina Pleasure turns hin down. One person that belives him is his housekeeper Jack Starbright. So for the first time Alex goes solo. Just like the rest of the Alex Rider books this is a THRILLER!!!! Mr Anthony Horowitz has to much of a winning sreies on his hands to stop writing these books!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Rating: 5 of out 5 - Eagle strike - A. Horowitz

This book was in really good condition and came less than 48 hours after I ordered it - great service and a good price. The Alex Rider stories are really good books for children(especially boys) aged about 8-12 years. They are action-packed adventure stories about a teenage boy who is a James Bond-type secret agent. They are well written and not gruesome, just exciting.

Rating: 5 of out 5 - Sensational

Believe the hype, this is sensational. There's not a dull sentence. The best thing is the description you rely feel that you are Alex. His anger, his happens ,his excitement. You share all his emotions.

Eagle Strike will please adults and children. Kids will love the action and adventure Adults will be reminded of what is was like when they wanted to be James Bond.

Alex Rider is arguably better than Harry Potter. This is a dam good read, but Scorpia is twice as good. Your a fool to turn it down

Rating: 5 of out 5 - Wow

Absolutely amazing book. Relaxing in france MI6 agent Alex Rider is finally able to act like a normal teenager. When a ruthless attack on Sabina Pleasures dad plunges him back into a world of violence and mystery. And this time, MI6 have nothing to do with it. Alex is determined to track down his friends attacker. It leads him to a discovery more shocking than anyone would have predicted. Alex Riders dad was a.........

Rating: 5 of out 5 - By far the best

Unrealistic, yes, but very very good.
Contains a lot of violence but full of suspense right from page 2 or something.
Brilliant bring back of that assassain as well.
Some books just get rubbish as you get older, but i read this one when i was about 14 or something, even now, at 17, it's still brilliant.
It might not be for everyone, but it definitely kept me hooked all the way through.

Rating: 4 of out 5 - A GOOD BOOK BUT SLIGHTLY UNREALISTIC

I have enjoyed all the books in the alex rider series and i like this book very much. I find the humor fuuny and unlike some of the sences in some of the cherub books it is sutiabal for all ages. My main critisisum of the Alex Rider series is that he does things that are unrealisic of a 15 year old kid with a BMX. Overall a good series but if above the age of 12 i would strongly recommend the cherub books instead as i find they are much more realisic.
