Average rating - 3.0 out of 5

Rating: 4 of out 5 - funny!

This book is very amusing. I've read a book by the same author called 'onwards and upwards' so I was expecting a lot of humor!

The story is as follows, Hat and Jimmy Mack are going to get married, untill 6 weeks before the wedding and Jimmy Mack calls it off. Whats a woman to do? Well a woman is to carry on with the wedding plans as usual and hope that he turns up on the day!

Very funny story although slightly predictable at times. An ideal summer holiday read.

Rating: 4 of out 5 - I'm in Love...

It's a light-hearted, easy to read, and fun. The story of a 30-something woman who chooses to go ahead with her wedding despite her fiance calling it off... is quite funny! I couldn't put the book down...probably because I wanted to know how on earth this story was going to end.

Rating: 2 of out 5 - Disappointing

As a fan of 'chick lit' I looked forward to reading Arabella Weir's 'stupid Cupid' expecting good things from it, however I was very disappointed with this attempt. The plot centers around the main charcter Hat who is dumped before her wedding day by her fiance Jimmy Mack. However, this is all the plot centers on, Hat trying to win her fiance back before the wedding as she is going to continue with her wedding without him or not. As I found this a ridiculous idea I was not impressed with the story at all. This could have being quite a funny book as the whole notion of continuing with a wedding without the groom is quite funny, however I didn't find it at all funny just a very weak attempt at the hugely popular chick lit. The main charcter is unrealistic and the ending is very predictable, a dissappointing book.

Rating: 3 of out 5 - A light and fluffy girly froth-fest!

This is a typically frothy girly read, light on substance yet possessing that strangely compelling edge in the fast-paced story that makes you want to read on. Yes, the plot is slightly absurd and often predictable, but I don't think this lets the book down given the genre to which it belongs. This book would be perfect for reading on holiday, or whilst surrounded by concentration-rending noise on a packed commuter train, or during a long hot soak in the bath after a hard day at work. It's light-hearted, easy to read, and fun - and I think that's exactly what Arabella Weir intended. If you want something to really engage with, then go somewhere else, but if it's disposable modern chick-lit that floats your boat, you could do worse than try this novel.

Rating: 4 of out 5 - A great fun about how to deny you've been dumped

This book is really a great fun. How Hat tries in everyway to be able to marry the guy who dumped her 6 weeks before her wedding. That's just a pity that the ex-guy came back, as all the most of the books the girls always need to see or talk to their ex to feel better, which is not a good conclusion I think. All the books seem similar. But it's really funny to read, so I'll recommend it to every girls who've been dumped by the man of their dreams.
