- fell off the bed (with laughter) reading this!
How come that the author knows exactly what it is like to be thirty something and very single? I have several cases of friends, male and female, to whom I can relate this humorous and most lush book to. (sorry friends if you happen to read this review) Go out and buy. But be ready to stay up all night!! PS: have now gone and bought the sequel and is just as hilariously real.
Rating:
- extremely funny - a book you can't put down.
Every page in this book contains at least one line that'll make you laugh - Bridget Jones is a great character that almost everyone can relate to. Her new year's resolutions are to give up cigarettes, lose weight and have at least one successful relationship, but is it that straight forward? Read on and find out.
Rating:
- Funny and understandable.
During the year Bridget has a lot of ups and downs and mood swings. She has to live through her love problems, her annoying parents' friends, her parents' split, her mother's sudden change in lifestyle and many other situations which she finds hard to deal with. This book is ideal for women who find life difficult, it's something to laugh at and to know that there are other people with problems. Some of he things Bridget does are unbelievable. The amount of bad things she had to go through in just one year make you sympathise with and want to help this woman who is only a character in a well-written book. The smallest things like finding out how to work her Video recorder to tape a program for her irritating mother are exaggerated, making it seem like the hardest thing on earth, she gives up in the end! I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a good, comical read and especially the women who feel they can relate to the book.
Rating:
- Once you.ve seen the film you really must hear the tape.
The six tapes of the Bridget Jones Diary made a drive through France zip by in no time at all. The diaries are brilliantly read and bring Bridget & co. and all their hang-ups to life in a very amusing way.

- I just couldn't put it down!
I bought this book on a Tuesday and it was finished by the Thursday. Everyone kept on about the film but I wanted to read the book. I still haven't seen the film but if it's anything like the book then it'll be amazing. Every girl will relate to this book. A book that has got to be read!!!
