This book is full of suprises and adventure. A message to K.A.Applegate: Keep writing. I cannot wait for 'Andalite Chronicles' and you are my best author. (1. K.A.Applegate 2. J.K.Rowling & R.Dahl 3. J.R.Tolkein)

Rating: - Doesn't compare with the other Animorph books

I am an older reader of the animorphs books. I have read every Animorph to date and I will give you my honest opinion. I have read the reviews in here and all the ones that give this book under 2 starts give no reasons for there opinion. The reason I didn't enjoy this book was not that it wasn't o.k., but it was because it can't compare to other animorphs books. Books like The Encounter( # 3 ), The Message ( #4 ), The Stranger ( # 7) and The Departure ( # 19) and other Animorphs are so well written that if you compare these to The Hork Bajir Chronicles you immediatly see that it doesn't have a strong plot or very good charcter develpoment. Some people might say that I just don't like this book because it isn't really involved with humans, but I have also read the Andalite Chronicles and I thought it was superb! It had a well written plot, great character development and it gave us some REAL information about our series storyline. The Hork Bajir Chronicles told us nothing about the Animorphs but gave us a look at the history of another race which could have been interesting but didn't pull it off. One reason that might be a factor was that this book really wasn't long enough to pull off the ideas that it wanted to create and maybe if it was, I think it would have helped the book tremendously. I think K.A. should start writing for an older audience because so she can write longer, more difficult stories.

Rating: - Exceptional - Best so far of the prequels to Animorphs.

Although it looked helpless in the end, it was very tricky how Aldrea and Dak Hamee solved their problem of the Yeerks invading the Hork Bajir home planet without the help of all the other Andalite Fleet. Excellent book. It is definitly worth buying!

It shows how the Hork-Bajir were created,the people that created them and how they were transformed into controllers.

K.A. Applegate has a vast imagination. she is able to fit together her books like a puzzle and the more you read the more the surprises and things you learn of animorphs.
