Rating: 4 of out 5 - Priceless Pyromaniac Peril

Anne Fine's twisted characters and intriguing story line make for a gripping story. The constant action of the story sees young Natalie's life being completely overrun by a strange, outlandish girl at her new school. Natalie is bewitched by her and follows her everywhere. They play numerous games all of which end in tears. This book can bewitch a reader in much the same way that Tulip has the power to bewitch Natalie. The final twist in the story results in the arson of the one place that Tulip loved after a falling out between the two main characters. The Tulip Touch asks many important questions of society(can anyone be born evil?) blended with both strong characters and storyline the Tulip Touch is a fine read for 12+.

Rating: 4 of out 5 - The Tulip Touch

The Tulip Touch is a very exiteing book which asks a lot of questions. I read this book when I was 12 and I have always remembered it. I have always seen myself as Natalie, the girl who is a bit confused about Tulip. I did at some parts feel sorry for Tulip as well, as her parents just ignore her and you can see where she gets her personality from. Tulip has a firey attituded and can explode at any moment. Some of the things that Tulip does makes you think that there are people like that and we need to help them. I would recommend this book for anyone who likes books that make you think.

Rating: 5 of out 5 - Tulip touch

i found the Tulip Touch quite an unpredictable book. My first impressions of Tulip were that she was a strange girl. When Tulip was first introduced she was in a middle of a field holding a kitten with its eyes still closed. It was there Natalie first met Tulip. When it was time for school the next day Natalie was in the playground and she saw Tulip by the fence. She wallked up to Tulip and said "Do you want to be friends." I felt quite sorry for Tulip as apart from Natalie, Tulip had no friends. But later on in the book the tables turned and it was Natalie who I felt sorry for. Tulip had a strong hold on Natalie and could make her do things she would never even dream of. The more Tulip was with Natalie the more Natalie would get into trouble. Until one day there friendship ended and when Natalie did something she shouldn't have done to Tulip. It was then Tulip acted in a most alarming way.

Rating: 5 of out 5 - At first...

I read this book first when I was about eleven years old and although I knew something sinister was happening, I couldn't quite understand what it was. After re-reading it I can understand the story perfectly. This is definitely a work for the teenage mind.
In a world full of Harry Potter books regurgitated in different forms, this is a break from the routine story telling and leads you down a path with a dark light shining at the end.
This is a book you have to read with an open mind, so that you can understand every point with a clarity as if you had written it yourself.
The Tulip Touch puts you under a spell - you won't be able to put it down until you have turned the very last page.

Rating: 5 of out 5 - Thrilling!

This book is absolutely fantastic! Anne Fine describes Tulip and Natalie so finely, especially when it comes down to Tulips twisted thoughts. Tulip is a character of precision in a way of that she rips out your insides and brings you into her world, and even though she is doing everything so badly, you can see why she is doing it and can really tap into her thoughts. While Tulip is echantingly puzzling, Natalie is there, and the story is written by her, looking upon her experiences with Tulip with regret, you cant help feeling sorry for her. She has been sucked in to Tulips bizzare world of sadistic games and it is like a cage with no key: no way out. These two characters, complimented by Fine's exquisite detail, make this an absolute stunner!
