Average rating - 4.0 out of 5

Rating: 2 of out 5 - Good book

This book was about a family who move to a hotel to direct it . Natilie the daughter of the family meets some aragant kid (Tulip) who takes her problems out on other people.Natalie and tulip are freind some times but Tulip normally hates the world... This wasnt my most favorite book as i didnt chooser it the school did. I wouldnt read this again as i did not like it. The end

Rating: 4 of out 5 - Eerie, but interesting.

This book is quite compelling, and I particularly liked Anne Fine's detailed description of a painting that Tulip drew, in which her emotions came flooding out onto the canvas. With Tulip being in a dangerous amount of emotional turmoil, it changed my opinion of her from a malicious, spiteful creature into a pitiful, insecure child. All she ever wanted was love and attention, and when they were denied, disasterous effects were inevitable.

Rating: 4 of out 5 - It overdramatizes things, but otherwise it was pretty good.

The book gets the reader thinking and involved. It was sad to see how a girl like Tulip could be so derranged. I wanted the best for Natalie, so I wished the entire book that they would not be friends. The ending was quite the surprise, though!

Rating: 5 of out 5 - BRILLIANT!

If you just want to curl up with a good book, then this is the one! Not only is it a great storyline, but it is very touching. Natalie is the narrator and just wants a friend. She finds Tulip in a field and starts chatting to her. Soon they are together all the time! But this starts to change when, like her Father, Tulip begins playing dangerous, unimaginable games, and Natlie doen't like it! I GUARANTEE anyone will enjoy this book!
