Rating:
- A decent, quick read
This is a good thriller, excellent for a plane or train journey if you are looking for a short, quick read and you are willing to overlook a number of factual/historical inaccuracies.
If you are a stickler for facts and accuracy, then this book may not be your cup of tea. For those looking for their next read and desire something which is not too taxing on the brain, then this is ideal.
The book follows Robert Langdon as he attempts to locate the lair of the notorious Illuminati. Using an ancient symbolic pathway, Robert and his scientific sidekick Vittoria journey across Rome and the Vatican City encountering numerous perils and obstacles along the way. Secret Vatican rites and regulations add to the suspense and overall intrigue of the plot.
The plot contains numerous twists and turns throughout, ending in a marvellous and unexpected finale.
Overall a decent read.

- Perfect
I don't think I can say much than this book is perfect. I read an average of 3 books a week, and nothing has come close to this book. I have never been able to fault it in any way, and enjoy it time and time again. I have yet to read a Dan Brown book which dissapoints. Roll on September..!

- Very gripping read...if you can look past some ridiculous moments
I had read "Deception Point" and watched "The Da Vinci Code" and decided to check out the first of Robert Langdon's adventures. i was thoroughly impressed by the pacing in this book that split up the scenes almost as if it were written for a film (btw i watched the film after reading this and have never been so disappointed with a book2movie tie-in). The story was extremely entertaining which is the over-riding word to describe this novel, there may be errors all over the place and some truly unbelievable moments (RIVER TIBER) but if you are able to look past these then there is a very fun, entertaining read awaiting. the search for the church of illumination was the highlight of this book as i liked the way it was written as almost a treasure hunt and i thought the clues were interesting enough to keep me hooked. the story seems to run away with itself a little after that with twists firing from all directions, but on the whole a good book if you want a rather easy-on-the-brain thriller.

- Fantastic
I read this book after I read the Da Vinci Code. I wasn't expecting it it to be as good but it was better! It's a must read.
If you liked the Da Vinci Code you have to buy this book!

- What more can anyone say?
I am new to Dan Brown. Having seen Da Vinci Code film, I walked out after half an hour. It just did not work for me. I have now read all his books and am just waiting for his next. They are so well written. They have so many facts in them, intertwined with fiction that it is impossible to tell where one ends and the other starts. Brilliant.
