- loved the Davinci code, I put away Angels and Daemon; boring!!
I liked the Davinci code because each time the historical revelations where folowed up with new 'facts' throughout the book.
In Angels and Daemons the historical revelation (a lot less shocking than the one in the Davinci code) is handed out in the beginning of the book and is not made more interesting at any time. You allready know the story, the only thing you are waiting for is whether Langdon will save the day or not.. The storyline is as thin as the paper of the book itself.. It doesnt happen to me that much, most books will give you at least the effort of the writer. This was a waste of my money thanks to a seemingly uninspired writer!

- TOTALLY HOOKED !
I read this after reading the Da Vinci Code as i felt i'd had a really good read. But this story just blew me away. It was a bit far fetched toward the end, but sooo readable, and the twist at the end of the story, well what can i say, just read it ! After i finished the book i felt like a junkie needing his next fix and immediately went online and bought another 2 of Dan Browns books and wasn't disapointed.

- I wish I were 13 again ...
I wish I were 13 years old again, then I may have found this book exciting. Sadly I am not, and equally sad, I thought this book would better. The story line is fast enough and the subject matter is interest. BUT, unfortunately Mr Brown has a writting style (maybe in this book only) that takes be back to Enid Blyton and her 'Famous Five' series. The writing is loose, and very predictable. I felt like I was be spoken down to. This is unfortunate as the subject matter (the art history mixed with science) is what made me pick up this book in the first place. Sadly, I cant wait to put it down.

- dan brown brown stuff
This is tripe beyond belief - never mind how its sold , how it ever got published is also beyond belief ; Dan Brown must have the best agent and his publisher the best marketing team in the world...Where to begin?? First, none of the ambigrams are symetrical; they just arent. Now to the plot. I decided to read the book again without Robert Langdons involvement - let me explain - The scientist gets murdered and branded, the antimatter stolen and the pope is dead. So far so good. Now forget Langdon, lets go to Rome. The cardinals have been kidnapped, and the BBC tipped off so that the publicity gets out. No Langdon - the bbc follow the assassins tip offs and get to each cardinal after they are dead. Next, the scientist arrives, scuffles with the camerlengo, gets himself shot but not before taping the confession and handing it to someone ( doesnt matter who as long as it gets seen ) Then the camerlengo has his vision , gets the bomb , flies off with it and has his miraculuos escape. He reappears as some kind of new jesus - but the tape reveals his crime. So he kills himself. End of story. But when Langdon is involved , he doesnt save a single cardinal, wrecks the library, ruins priceless manuscripts, gets the chief of the swiss guard killed etc etc. How can he be the hero? The plot therefore is totally flawed, Langdons part is merely a way for Brown to show off his tourist guide reading skills. Dont bother with this book, its worse than 0 stars.

- Insults the intelligence?!
Read The Da Vinci Code and thought it a good read, and also a pretty good film.
Angels and Demons is a mess frankly. The dialogue cheesed me off very quickly, and I found myself skipping a page or a page and a half fairly constantly- why? The communication between the characters often descended to 'We can't do this' 'Yes I can' or 'I can't find the link' 'Think!' to the inevitable 'Then he saw it' Very predictable and annoying at the same time.
The plot , IMO, ends halfway through the book. The only item left is 'who is the baddie? I knew how Brown writes and quickly discarded several OBVIOUS red herrings, and was left with the inevitable conclusion.
All in all VERY disappointing. I find it very difficult to understand how people reading this novel gave it 5 stars.
There are so many varied views that a curious reader will find him/herself thinking, 'well, who's right? Is this as good/ as bad as so many have said in review. There's only one real conclusion in my mind - read it but do NOT buy it!
I won't be reading any more Dan Brown books though.
