- The Best Reed Ever
This book is simply the most powerful I have ever read. After reading the first few sentences I was unable to put it down.
It is about the suffering of two Afghan women brought together by chance in a society in which they have no power or rights . Their relationship beginswith jealousy but ends with surprising love that surpasses all the brutality and fear that they have endured.
A must read if ever there was one!
Excellent as a gift.

Wow what an eye opener. Not my usual read but I thoughily enjoyed reading the story and understanding a very different way of life than my own.

I had a small problem because I apparently only was able to buy 5 cheep editions of "A Thousand Splended Suns".
We are 7 ladies who read an English book (or half a book)every year, and we prefere all to have the same edition. (This time we have 5 cheep editions and 2 more expensive editions, and it is a little difficult to us).
I find it is a good way to buy books at Amazon. We have earlier bought "The Grass is Singing" by Doris Lessing.

A very will written out novel, based on a fantastic real life story, you would have to give KHALED HOSSEINI 10/10 for writing a such wounderfull story. From begining to the end, chapter by chapter, word by word, you just cannot take your eyes of this book.My advise to anyone who is looking to purchase the 'A THOUSAND SPLENDID SUNS' it's a must have copy, a copy which illustrates a friendship of love,careing,commitment and determination right throught to the end. ENJOY READERS
