Average rating - 4.5 out of 5

Rating: 4 of out 5 - An amazing sequel to STORMBREAKER

After reading Stormbreaker in a day, I was eager to see how Horowitz was going to continue on the new legacy that is Alex Rider.

Having been given the Alex Rider collection (all six books) for Christmas 2005, it gave me a great oppertunity to read them all in quick succession.

I found Point Blanc amazing! However I must say it is not the best Alex Rider book. That is left to Scorpia!

Rating: 4 of out 5 - another fantastic spy adventure!

In this sequel to Stormbreaker, new MI6 agent Alex Rider is sent on a mission to investigate a French academy, Point Blanc where the British Agency believe something is happening there which shouldn't be.

The idea of sending a kid to do all of these dangerous missions always makes me smile. Targeted towards children it maybe but I believe people with a good sense of humour and an open mind will enjoy the exciting happenings of a young teenage spy armed with stereotyped teenage agent gadgets and always getting sent on these adventures.

Although the beginning is ridiculous and unrealistic the book flows brilliantly from once Alex is assigned his mission which contains action, suspense and mystery throughout.

The slickness and knowledge of the central protagonist Alex is great for readers as he is brilliant in his role.

Written in the third person perspective, Anthony Horowitz again proves his writing brilliance by observing the story through different points of views, observing what is taking place at different times, this is best demonstrated in the prologue and is a great weight for the other books in the series.

Horowitz always drops the answers in causally at many points and throughout he always asks the audiences questions which in my opinion is a great techniques it engages audience interest to work the mystery out for themselves.

With its action and mystery, point Blanc is definitely one of the best in the series and is a must read for all want to be young heroes.

Not as strong and convincing as Stormbreaker but nevertheless it packs a punch and will leave audiences very satisfied and will encourage to carry on reading what is a great series of books.

Rating: 5 of out 5 - WOW!

This is a great book. I got it for going on holiday to portugal and ended up reading it on the plane their. It is a great book with evrything a boy could want in a book. It has adventure, puzzle and even a bit of horror. I would deffinitly recomend this book to anyone age eight and above.

Rating: 5 of out 5 - Book 2 of the amazing Alex Rider

This is a sequel that is probably even better than the original. Stormbreakeris one of the best childrens books ever, but Point Blanc is more sinister and creepy. The writing is excellent as always and the action is brilliant. Robert Muchamore and Joe Craig are also writing excellent action books of the same type now but Anthony Horowitz was first.

Rating: 5 of out 5 - Yes! Yes! Yes!

This is an amazing book which takes the power and excitement of Stormbreaker to another level because there is no need to spend time setting things up. Not that the setting up was dull, it's just that in this book we already know the character and the situation so the book can get on with the mission.

The cold mountain setting means Alex Rider is more isolated and there is plenty of scope for different types of action - like how he gets down a mountain very very fast. This book also contains one of the best villains in any of the Alex Rider books and some truly chilling scenes when you realise what he's doing to the kids... I won't give away anything more.

This is a great book, probably one of the best Alex Rider books except they're all amazing.

I also recommend Joe Craig's books, called the Jimmy Coates Series, and Robert Muchamore's Cherub series. Those and Alex Rider are the three best action book series.

So READ THIS BOOK!!!
