Editorial Reviews

- Queen the supreme group of rock
This DVD was bought as a special birthday present. the recipient has been a life time fan of Queen.
Freddie Mercury had a huge following and no one can replace that charismatic charm and presence he had on stage.
A chance to get lost in your youth and sing along.

bought this as a gift for Christmas for a friend. Ordered and paid for it, then wanted to change the post. Spoke to a customer services advisor, who as ever was extremely helpful and polite. A refund was given immediately and postage changed, and though ordered late was here in plenty of time for Christmas. As ever, a fantastic website to order from, and great value too. A1 service!!

- This is great
I would recommend this to anybody who loves Queen, you will not be disapointed
The whole band are brilliant and some people have said that Freddie had a sore throat and he does sound a bit croaky on a couple of songs but then who else would perform as brilliantly as he did with a sore throat?
Love the interaction with the audience and on the 2nd DVD you get to see lots of different bits of action from all 4 of them where the camera is focused on each one individually
fantastic DVD

- Freddie, at half-strength
Now this is a good video. The band are tight, the setlist is decent and the crowd are enthusiastic. But Freddie's normally stunning voice is in a weakened state here. That's not to say he's not good - in comparison with most other live singers he's great - but he's sung much better than this. His voice just isn't as sharp, sounding very rough and descending into a hoarse bawl at times (A Kind of Magic, I Want To Break Free, Hammer To Fall, Radio Ga Ga). Then there's the excessive vocal overdubbing on tracks like Who Wants To Live Forever, Friends Will Be Friends and We Are The Champions: off-key notes and vocal cracks from the original radio broadcast (which has circulated as a bootleg for years) have now been replaced by soaring, pitch-perfect high notes which are a little louder and more bassy in the mix than the rest of Freddie's vocals, and contrast noticably with his raspy, strained singing elsewhere. I don't know if all of this was because the show was half-way through a tour, or if Freddie's illness was beginning to take hold; he revealed his illness to his bandmates and friends early the following year, so it's a likely possibility. According to a Brian May radio interview bootleg I have, Freddie walked offstage after this gig and said "I don't want to do this anymore." And after playing a huge gig at Knebworth weeks later, he never again did. He was shattered, and it is evident in his vocal performance.
I'd recommend Queen Rock Montreal or Queen On Fire if you want to hear the man sing. Still, he is a joy to watch onstage, and this is a worthy purchase for Queen completists.

- Queen @ Wembley Stadium
This DVD shows Queen at their very very best, I was lucky enough to be present at the concert and the only thing missing from the DVD is the concert atmosphere and it does it's best to let the viewer experience some by the quality of the sound and photography.
