Rating: - Scrooge - The Best One

I may be old fashioned, but this black and white original is the best version I have ever seen.

Rating: - blu ray details

The picture is clearer than any previous DVD edition however there are some blemishes on the print (due to age). It is presented in the original aspect ratio (black lines at side) so no longer are tops and bottoms cut off like before. I agree with the other reviewer that the artwork may be misleading for some. There is NO COLOURISED version present here. But the colourised version of this film wasn't really very good anyway. In fact there aren't really any extras at all other than a bonus DVD copy of the film. Still the best version ever made.

Both the blu-ray disc and DVD are REGION-FREE.

Rating: - Humbug

The 2 stars are for the blu-ray alone. Actually I would give the film 5 stars, but for this pretty awful blu-ray offering. It IS sharp, but that's it! There are scratches and aberrations throughout, not present on previous DVD releases. The sound is also affected. The cover misleads you to believe that there is a 'colourised' version within this package,- there is not. If anyone wants to see just how good an old movie CAN look, buy 'It's a wonderful life', the blu-ray and DVD package include B&W and colourised versions which look stunning. This movie does not. A waste of pennies.

Rating: - My favorite Christmas Carol

This is still my favorite version of A Christmas Carol in spite of all the movies made since it was released - it really transmits the spirit of Dickens's story.

this DVD does not contain any full colorized version of the 1951 movie at all it only contains some short cuts of the movie in color and the DVD does not contain 1944 Max Fleisher cartoon of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer
