i am a fan of gia and have idolised this tragic beauty for many years: long before the movie, when julia roberts was being considered as a suitible Gia. This story is not true to life and is full of amalgums such as the 'linda' character. i think angelina jolie bought no softness to gia, and gia was basically a little girl who never grew up: she felt abandoned her entire life. Jolie gave only glimpses of this and bore hardly any resemblance to the girl herself looks wise. And as for making her bisexual for what were clearly titilation purposes: unbelievable. As janice dickinson said Gia herself once told her, she could count the men she'd had sex with on one hand and it had either been forced on her or something she did for drugs money. Gia deserves a better depiction as an epitaph than this but i give it 4 out of 5 as it raised global awareness of the late great Carangi's plight and if this movie has saved one person from a similar fate, Gia's up there smiling down from heaven.

This is such a great movie- It is so so powerful and Angelina Jolie is fabulous in it. There are some beautiful shots, as well as some other a bit tacky ones which still pass as cool in my books. It is really a tragic story, and highlights the sometimes tragic consequences of when someone's youth is taken too quickly. Gia's complete strength shines throughout the film and Jolie also infuses the character with a heartbreaking sense of vulnerability, emphasising the humanity of Gia. Enjoy the film!!!

A very well written film in my opinion.

It tells the story of the supermodel Gia's life and how the pace ultimately lead to her death.

Angelina Jolie is excellent in this film and portrays the character brilliantly. She is certianly a very good actress and one that is certainly not embarrassed to do a scene in the nude. Gia, of course, did nude poses and so they are reflected in the film also.

I would recommend buying this film. It has a good story and is well acted and directed all round. Quite sad at the end - but it is based on a true story after all.

wow, I first discovered this DVD when browsing through Amazon and the reviews struck me because I have only seen a few films with Angelina Jolie and I have to admit they haven't made a lasting impression. This film however, was utterly astounding although it traces the tragic and often lonely true life story of the model Gia it does so in a very emotional and touching way. I enjoyed seeing the relationship between the protagonist and her first female lover develop into a deep physical and emotional connection. I also found the retrospective narrative of characters such as Gia's mother necessary to the progression of the film. I also think, and this hard for me to say, that Angelina Jolie was an inspired lead actress for this film, she seemed to incaptulate the part and really get across the desperation of the situation. The fact that keeps hitting home when watching the film is that it is based on the life of a real person, which makes it even more moving and impacting. I sincerely recommend this film.
