Rating: 3 of out 5 - May and Taylor should be ashamed

I was absolutely appalled by the video quality of this DVD. For starters it's 4:3 which is pathetic for what was supposed to have been the "biggest rock concert stage EVER at the time" and what's worse is that the video quality is grainy throughout. The camera on John Deacon is the worst, you can barely see a thing through a Deacon shot.

This is a LOUSY tribute to Freddy and May/Taylor should be ashamed of themselves. When Olivia Harrison can re-release the 1971 Concert Fpor banglaDesh in 16:9, what exactly was Queen's problem for a concert that was shot in 1986?!!!

To cap it all there is an interview with the film maker on the second DVD and he goes on and on about what a great job he did! Taylor and May should watch the Eagles Farewell Tour II to understand how good DVD picture quality can be and that is all night shots when this concert took place mostly in bright daylight!!!!

The only thing that kept me from destroying this DVD is the music which is simply awesome.

Now, May/Taylor will re-release this concert AGAIN, this time in 16:9 with digital crisp picture quality and a DTS mix and guess what? Suckers like us will go buy it again.

They never deserved you Freddy. Deacon is the only one who emerges from this with some credit because he refused to be involved in this crappy rip off of a project and that probably explains the atrocious pictuire quality on the Deacon shots!

Rating: 5 of out 5 - Pure champions

1986 has to be the pinacle in queen's career, absolutly fantastic performance from start to finish. The band, stage and everything about this DVD is stunning. Unlike most singers freddie seems to gain strengh throughout the concert, never once does he miss a note, this man is a machine, absolute genius when it comes to delivering the goods. I would give my right arm to have been there but I was only 8 years old when queen did the magic tour and very last one until recently with Paul Rodgers. It's hard to believe when watching this that freddie would be dead in 5 years, I have yet to find a better live performance than this one. If's you've never bought a queen concert before buy this one, Pure champions.

Rating: 5 of out 5 - Dolby digital???

I agree with previous reviewers - Wow! Outstanding! I've hardly ever seen Queen before - only heard them. This is a fabulous show and the video production is pretty good for a live concert. The cameras don't jump around so much you can't really see anything (unlike, say, Iron Maiden in Rio) and picture quality is pretty good too (unlike, say, AC/DC at Donnington).

But, and this is a big but, my copy does not have Dolby Surround sound on it. (So, do any of them?) I know your first thought will be the same as mine, that I'm too thick to get it to work. I had no trouble with the other discs I tried straight after it and before it so I don't think it is just me. In fact I tried several discs and this is the only one that doesn't play in Dolby 5.1.

Rating: 5 of out 5 - Just...wow!

The only way to describe this DVD concert is "wow". If you would like to see Queen at their best, this is the concert for you.
In the previous year to this Queen appeared in Live Aid, and decided that after the amazing response they gained in this concert that they would like to play Wembley. It astonishes me how these 4 men managed to carry the entire concert off ON THEIR OWN with only the help in a couple of songs, from long term friend and musician Spike Edney. The amount of energy that is put into every song from each member is incredible, and you definitely gain some of the energy through watching the concert; even though you are not physically there. I am yet to find a band that put as much effort into their public performances as Queen did throughout their career.
Another reason that you may wish you view this, is the fact that I was the last tour the band performed before the death of Freddie Mercury in 1991. It is without doubt a must see for any fan. If you have only ever heard their music on albums, I suggest that you watch them live, because they're pure magic. This is one that you can watch over and over again. Truely, a kind of magic!
As well as the legendary stage performance, this double disc set also invites you to watch the band in rehearsals. The second disc offers a whole range of different viewpoints on the concerts, so for example, say you are a budding guitarist wanting to learn a song, you can set the concert to just watch Brian May on certain songs! As well as this, the second disc also includes rare footage of the band rehearsing before the concerts - this is an insight into the amazing chemistry between the members and is increidbly fun to watch; even though the sound and image quality are not fantastic.
Buy this and take a little piece of Queen home with you. I can guarantee that you won't be disappointed
