Rating: 3 of out 5 - One Of Those Shows That Grows On You

Sean Lock is Vince, a swimming pool attendant who's rather obnoxious - he likes to keep himself to himself and he lives up on the 15th floor of a tower block in London. He's looking for a right hand man (or woman) and he decides to let Errol (Benedict Wong - Spy Game) stay with him in the flat. Errol is quiet and rather reserved, he's from up North and is homesick, as this is his first time in London.

The show follows their ups and downs, like Errol's job at the fish market, Vince being bullied by kids, and Vince's close encounter with a new neighbour. We also see the lives of others in the block, including a guy who has his own horse!

This is quite a funny show, but I wouldn't go as far to say it was the best thing ever made, this was really the early days of BBC Three's productions, and you can tell this is pretty much low budget; and there's really not much going on in the show. Sean lock as Vince is good though, and his dark sarcasm is great - and Errol's funny too, and works well with Sean. I would recommend this if you're into shows like The Royle Family, The Smoking Room, Lunch Monkeys and Ideal, it's definitely no Gavin And Stacey, but it's not trying to be, and it's not really the same genre, but if you like shows on BBC Three you'll probably like this.

Worth renting, not sure if I would want this as part of my collection though, not much extras wise except for commentaries so it would get boring after a whole.

Rating: 2 of out 5 - Not quite High enough

Having read some reviews on here I had high hopes for this series, and while there were some flashes of genius this just didn't live up to the high praise it has received.

The concept is good, the plots are good but it is missing that spark of inspiration to turn the show from good to great.

If you can get it cheap then give it a go but don't spend a lot on it or you might be disappointed.

Rating: 1 of out 5 - I just don't understand...

Why does this DVD, purely series 1, cost MORE than the complete collection; series 1 and 2? I'm also a bit angry that I bought this DVD and to get hold of the second series I had to buy series 1 aswell. Although I'm just happy to have a copy.

The show is fantastic, but no need to just buy this first series alone.

Rating: 5 of out 5 - Dark and brilliant

This is a fantastic comedy! If you're used to the bubblegum-nicey nicey comedy of Friends then it might take an episode or so to adjust to this!

The comedy is bleak and strangely off-the-wall whilst still grounded in reality.

Sean Lock plays a fantastically grumpy bloke with contempt for all, his hapless flat mate seems a bit 'simple' - they are polar opposites and it makes for great screen chemistry.

Blue Rat "All the power of a rat - in a can" - genius!!!

Rating: 5 of out 5 - Briliant

I can't understand why series 2 has never been released. This is THE funiest comedy I have seen. Lent my copy to friends. Typically they are not sure when watching the 1st episode, then they get the sense of humour and love it. People who like the mighty boosh or the smoking room will love this
