Rating: 5 of out 5 - Series 2

Absolutley amazing but not as good as the first series. Mighty Boosh series 2 just lacks a bit of genius. Vince isn't as optimistic, Naboo isn't as casual and underacted. Bollo's accent isn't as funny, Dixon Bainbridge and Bob Fossil are gone and the songs are not quite as good. However it's still genius and deserves 5 stars. The changes take a bit of getting used too, and this in't helped by the first two episodes being not as good as the rest. However after that it's pure gold. On the upside Julian Barratt's acting is really impressive and Sabu, Tony Harrison, Old Greg and Milky Joe are all classic characters. Best quote "put away those fiery biscuits"

Rating: 3 of out 5 - Waiting for that moment

I haven't seen all of this yet, so I must add that my cautious 3 stars is for what I've seen so far. The yeti episode was good but something that I can't quite put my finger on is missing. It is as surreal as ever but the songs are so far less effective as are the plots. Oddly, removing the hapless pair from the Zooniverse sems to have not given the series the opportunities it could have. Perhaps they are constricted by the music links, which seem odd anyway as Vince was so anti Howard's efforts in that direction anyway. It is still very enjoyable in a surreal sense but the desert music episode whilst interesting, raised no laughs for me.
I hope it gets better and that there is a series 3 that raises the bar, as so far nothing comes remotely near the Hitcher or Spirit of Jazz episodes form series 1. Not even reintroducing the Evil Man Witch worked except for the 'malt loaf? Yeah I'll have a slice' Moment.

Rating: 5 of out 5 - As good if not better than series 1!!!

I love The Mighty Boosh! The first series was very, very funny. And now I have series 2 which is as good if not better than its predecessor. I've noticed some reviewers mentioning their favourite episodes, well here's mine for good measure: the one where they are the seventies musicains searching for a new sound, i found that whole episode just hilarious! Please note that i believe the episode where they are stuck on a desert island is almost as good!
Great ideas, fantastic characters and off the wall situations make this the most original and entertaining comedy show in years! Just thinking about the moment when Howard punches the old lady in Nanageddon make me laugh!!!

Rating: 5 of out 5 - went down like a genius

The move from the Zoo out to the wider world worked for me. I admire the guts to move on with the material meaning more possible adventures. I loved the first series and their ability to keep being original is extremely inviting. The episode where they are shipwrecked is a total masterstroke, also the disco suit and the return of Robots in Disguise girls as 'Anthrax' and 'Ebola', the goths. This series sees them swearing a bit more and being a bit more adult. I feel the music numbers aren't quite as strong as the first series but then again I have had 'Love games' stuck in my head for a couple of weeks now...so perhaps they're growers.
Recommened this for Boosh Fans and also anyone with a love of surreal comedy and anyone who believes funk is hiding in a shoebox in a lake.

Rating: 5 of out 5 - The Boosh masterpiece evolves..........

Those of us who dipped a cautious toe into the new comedy experience of The Boosh, series 1,grew to appreciate one of the most delightful,richly-woven and original pieces of work in recent times. And now, with the release of series 2, many will fall upon this with deserved relish. It was bound to take a little while to establish such a curious and novel format - the hilarious dynamics of Howard and Vince's relationship, the peculiar, inexplicable characters who populate this strange world (Naboo, Bollo, etc..), and the exagerated colours of their strange, stylised landscapes,as if Rousseau had been asked to design a 60's Startrek set.
We have learned to love these characters...they are consistent, confident creations of wonderfully fertile minds. They are architypes( Howard's complicated, sad jazz geek, Vince's vacuous optimist) whose flawed human failings in their daily lives of under-achievement are resolved by entering a fantastic parallel world where they are empowered to put things right again. Favourite episode - 'The New Music'...primal desert landscape, Rudi's 'door of kukundo', rabbit blowing a plaintive tijuana trumpet, the Betamax monster...and 'put those fiery biscuits away'.What more could you ask for? Masterful! What 'stuff' one has to be on to to create the likes of Naboo, a silky-sleeved dwarf shaman living in suburbia, or Bollo, a grumpy DJ-ing gorilla, I dont know! But it is bringing huge enjoyment to an increasingly appreciative and swelling audience.
So...I just hope the release of this splendid 2nd series will remind BBC3 that a third series of Boosh must be commissioned, and thus secure their growing reputation for sponsoring cutting-edge humour on British television.
