Rating: 4 of out 5 - Philips SBCVL1400 Wireless TV Link

Just received this unit and was up and working with it in about 20 mins. The programming of the universal remote is quite easy, it recognised my Sky box, my Freeview box, my VCR, My DVD & my TV without any trouble at all and was able to control them all even though they were all made by different manufacturers.

The wireless link works fine in the next room but if I try to use it with a TV at the other side of the house (through 2 walls)it doesn't seem to work. Changing the frequency setting to one of the other 4 available settings did not have any effect either. When the unit was put in to the next room it worked like a dream and did everything I would have expected of it.

I have a number of other wireless devices in the house and they do not seem to affect the picture quality or the functionality of the unit at all.

Initially I tried to set up the wireless link in the same room as the master unit (despite the documentation saying not to), it didn't work at all and on closer inspection of the manual it stated that the two units must be a minimum of 5m away from each other.

All in all this is a good system that does what it claims, it cannot perform miracles in terms of being able to control the TV etc from the other side of the house but for a TV in the lounge and another in a room above it works almost perfectly.

Rating: 5 of out 5 - Save yourself £10 a month from sky multiroom

Guess what! IT IS PLUG AND PLAY! Really, really!!!
All I did was this:
Take out of box
Plug 2 scart cables into transmitter box, put one into sky and one into TV
Take receiver box upstairs, plug scart into box and TV
Turn both boxes on
Ta da
Done

BE AWARE that it only comes with 2 scarts, but show me a home that doesn't have a spare scart lead somewhere!

Rating: 5 of out 5 - Does work with Sky+

Was told by philips that the universal remote only worked with the most usual codes. My daughter suggested trying the Sky+ remote. Worked perfectly, so ordered an extra one from Sky. Simple really.

Rating: 4 of out 5 - Highly recommended!

I bought this product just over a year ago and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a solid wireless TV solution.
Works perfectly with Sky and Sky+ (using the generic remote supplied by Sky) and the picture quality is very impressive, especially when compared with similar cheaper solutions that I have seen on the market.
It may be worth noting that this product won't work with NTL, which as far as I can see would be it's only drawback!

Rating: 5 of out 5 - This is a must have for sky subscribers-a wireless miracle!

Received the item and had it up and running after 5 minutes. Picture quality is excellent. The remote control supplied will control tv, video, DVD player, sky and cable - even from another room!

I have set the base unit up in my living room and the other unit in my bedroom, this means that the signal has to travel through three brick walls. The picture quality is excellent and the remote reaches with no problems at all. I can change sky channels, play DVD's and videos and turn all equipment off from upstairs.

The set top base unit fits nicely in my video unit and even though it doesn't face the tv, satellite, video or DVD it still controlls all of them with 100% success rate.

This really is a great bit of kit and whilst not cheap it is a remarkable wireless tv solution.
