- Useful wireless presenter with mouse controls
I've used a couple of this sort of controller for presentations. If you only use PowerPoint then all you really need is the controls to go back and forward in the presentation. I like this type of controller (the ones with mouse control) as it really does free you from the computer.
I use this as part of my role as a classroom teacher for the parts of my lessons that use PowerPoint. This sort of controller really scores highly when you can also be separated from the PC but still be able to control the desktop and applications. I have used it with success for the students to take control of the PC from their desks. Sure, I could do this with a wireless mouse but they get a kick from using something they don't have frequent access to. The laser pointer is also useful for this sort of thing by getting the student to point something out.
The freedom this type of controller provides is fantastic. Why did I pick this one? I've seen some nice units that have the USB dongle incorporated into the unit for when it is stored and other s with timers etc but this controller just scores high on the price. This was my primary reason for buying it.
Once I bought it I have not had any disappointments. Installation is seamless, even on school PCs with tight admin rights. I say 'installation' but there isn't anything to install. It is real plug and play.
Control of the PC is great and the mouse control is accurate enough to allow me to do all the things I would with a mouse. The movement I use does tend to be very horizontal and vertical, which is different from my mouse skills, but I think this is just due to the newness of the thumb control for the mouse movement. I am sure I will get better over time. Range is good for my needs and there has never been any dead time when the unit has not responded.
All-in-all, a very nice product.

- Indispensible
As a lecturer this is indispensible for me and I use it in many sessions. As a PowerPoint tool it is perfect with just a click to move onto the next slide. It also includes a laser pointer which is invaluable for pointing various things out on-screen.
Cursor control is a little fiddly but once you get used to it then it can be a handy tool.
The range is perfect and gives me the room to wander all over the place (not sure how much the students appreciate that freedom though!)
Unlike earlier models, this has an on-off button.

- Excellent Piece of Kit
This is great piece of kit that does exactly what I wanted it to do. If you want to use it as a mouse it is more difficult but if you just want a presenter for Powerpoint then it is great.

- Model not as per Photograph
A word of warning, if like me you have used one of these before and were expecting the device to be the same as the one used by Amazon in the photograph then you might be disappointed.
Targus have changed the design of the current model and it is different from that photgraphed. Of course, it is personal choice but I have to say that I preferred the old one as it seemed to fit my hand more comfortably and the layout of the buttons is, to my mind, less user friendly.
Probably best to check the Targus website before buying to see what you will be getting.

- Stopped connecting
I have used this for Powerpoint work probably half a dozen times with no problem. Frustratingly now however my laptop will not recognise it despite change of battery and having used the hard connect button.
Shame really because it is a nice neat unit.
