Avoid this MP3, it breaks constantly.

I bought it in January and when I take it out of the box it won?t switch on. It was just dead. I had it replaced with no problem and I thought that even if it wasn?t a good start, these things happen and now everything should go well.
After 3 months, the on/off button got blocked and I wasn?t able to switch it off? of course once the battery died, I wasn?t able to turn it on again! I did returned the MP3 again to Creative and they repaired it and turn it back.
3 more months and now, every time I switch on the MP3 the volume will go to 0 even if I don?t touch the pad and is impossible to turn it up unless you switch the apparel off and on again? and even worst? one the MP3 is switch on, I can not witch it off? even if this time the on/off button it?s moves. I have to wait until it does disconnect automatically after a few minutes without use.

This is the worst apparel ever? and the worst thing is that even if it is obviously faulty, Creative won?t exchange it or return the money, t

Don't waste your money; quality control is poor. Bought the 1st one July 05, and two days later it went bad. The store exchanged it. This went bad in Jan., 06. It was replaced with a rebuilt one under warranty. Now the third one has gone bad- just says "Hardware Problems" when turned on. And it's out of warranty. Tech Services at Creative want money for repairs.I don't think I'll take a chance again!

I have owned a Creative Zen since about July 2005. In that time, I have had to send three away because of the problem described above, when the button would suddenly "snap" into a locked position and make me unable to turn the machine on.

I also had a problem when the battery died during the middle of a reset: after that my Zen would no longer turn on at all. Today, my fifth Creative Zen died; this time, the battery just shut off while the Zen was plugged into the computer.

On the other hand, my sister only had a problem with her Zen when she dropped it.

Without taking the constant breakdowns into account, the Zen is a decent machine: it's slightly irritating that you can't edit certain properties (e.g. Year of recording) en masse,but it's mostly good.

The software itself is fine and if it wasn't for this would be really godd, but when I contacted zen for a replacemnt they were very unhelpful and I had to even pay for the postage myself after 3 weeks of correspondance. DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT BUYIN ONE THEY BREAK SO FAST!!!

I recived dis zen 4 xmas, ever since den i listen to it every day! mine is silver its so class some of my friends have ipods but their really jealous of mine!! ha! ha! the sound is brill!! I wonder sometimes how i lived wit out a zen b4!! every 1 should ave 1!! BYE xoxo

when i got my creative i was so excited but after a while when i had loaded over 700 songs! it told me it had a firmware problem! which lost me all my songs as i had to reset it not gud so i rang up creative helpline and sorted all that out Then it wud no longer load songs on for me and it seems the usb cord is bust! so now i have to send it away and wait. besides that i found everything brilliant. its just seriously annoying and worrying when it cums to whether the next creative will turn out the same

Please can you get some more of this Creative Zen in stock, I had one for 3 years until the on/off system broke. It still comes on when you press the emergency on button but I would like to have a new one though. I dropped it so many times, it had cracks in it but it just didn't die and thats why I love this Cretive Zen so please get some more in stock.

Rating: - Throwaway MP3 player

I thought this player was okay until I wanted a battery for it. It's easy enough to get the battery out but Creative say this player is 'considered to have a non-removable battery'.
What use is that?

Rating: - Brill, cant live without it!

Aside from the odd playback error (which is easy fixed by doing a scan disk/defragg at intervals), it has been brilliant. Used it near to everyday for the past 15 months, still going strong and all in good condition even though i've dropped it god knows how many times amd it got damp in the rain, still rocks/rolls/raves. ACE buy.

Rating: - The mystery of the vanishing music library

I got this mp3 player for my birthday in August last year to replace the Zen Touch I'd had before, which worked for a good 2 years before the scroll pad stopped working. My new Zen was fine for a bit less than three months. I added all my music from my old player, it played fine and sounded nice, the battery life wasn't as good as the Zen Touch but was ok, I guess I had to charge it up once every three days or so. It was annoying but bearable. Then one day sometime in December I turned it on and found there was no music on it. From about 3500 songs to nothing in seconds. So I went home and tried adding music onto it again from my PC, I tried resetting it... nothing. The music was gone, wiped for no reason. And the worst bit was every time I attempted to put music on it from then on it just said there was an error copying the files to the player.

Honestly, don't buy one - from reading the reviews here it's clear I'm not the only one who's had problems with the Zen.

Rating: - it was a really good mp3 but then it just died on me

i bought my mp3 last august and it was great,couldn't be better then yesterday 6 months afterwards i had my mp3 on in the morning tand it was fine nothing wrong. i turned it on later to listen to it and it was freezing, the touch screen was failing to work and the headphone jack had broken so that i had push the headphones down before it made any sounds, and when i released it it stopped making a sound again.i feel it may have taken a knock but i had it in the hard case and everything so i feel this is very poor for an mp3. i havent spoken to creative yet but thwey will hopefully give me a new one if not then this mp3 was a waste of money.
