Rating: 1 of out 5 - Beware of new version

I bought this router after reading many great reviews, however Linksys have just released their latest version of this router (Version 5) as its so new there are still firmware issues which I experienced. WebPages are slow to download and some sites won't download at all. If I plug my internet direct into my computer everything is fine.

After looking around the internet I found out I'm not the only one with these problems either. Chatted to Linksys support for ages who recommended I send it back to Amazon, which I did, and received a full refund from Amazon, so I can't fault the customer service!

If you can try go for any other version eg Version 4

Rating: 5 of out 5 - Easy peasy lemon squeezy

I'm a complete technophobe, but have been wanting to change to a wireless network for ages. With me, things never work first time, so it was with some trepidation that I bought this.

How wrong could I be? It worked like a charm straight out of the box, and I was up and running on the internet in about 10-15 minutes. The hardest thing was finding the letter from my ISP that I had filed years ago which told me how to register a new device on the ISP's network!

Highly recommended.

Rating: 5 of out 5 - The Router Of Choice

Just recieved my router it only took 2 days to deliver which i guess it a testimate to Amazon.co.uk. The router is great. Even with my limited comupting knowlege i was able to create a wirless network in my house in less than 10mins. Not only this but the network has excellent reception. It is on the landing of the middle floor yet we have excellent reception both upstairs and down.
Not much more I can say than that. If your looking for a G modem made by one of the biggest computing companys which is easy to use and even easier to set up then this router comes highly recommended.

Rating: 5 of out 5 - It just works

After lots of messing about trying to find out what was required and looking at different ways to set up a wireless network I was advised to visit the Linksys website. They have a little video which guides you through wireless networks, what they are, how they work, what kit you might require etc.
After watching this everything seemed simple! I bought the wireless router and, while reading through the setup sheet, plugged it into my NTL broadband modem and configured it. Easy.
How both my desktop and laptop can use the internet and exchange files.

Rating: 1 of out 5 - No modem

Even though Amazon states it requires a modem, I got it anyway as normally routers are built to elliminate the need for a modem in the first place. It DOES require a modem, and the connection is RJ45 so no just connecting to your DLS splitter. Been in IT for a good few years and for a top 5 router to have no modem is just pants. Returning for a Netgear. Bizarre.
