- Simple immediate retro entertainment
It's a neat little trinket. I bought it for a good friday night's fun with the guys, and for this it worked out perfectly.
To be fair, the quality of picture and sound is absolutely horrible, and when there's a lot going on like multiple fireballs, the system has a hard time keeping the frame rate up.
If you want to optimize your SFII experience there's definitely better options out there.
That being said, one has to look at just how simple and perfect in itself this little unit is:
It's 2-player, it's Street Fighter II. Nothing else. And the fun of beating up your buddy is still all there.

- Classic Street Fighter 2 !!!
I remember how popular Street Fighter was when I was a kid. I had to have a joint Birthday and Christmas present one year just so my parents could afford to get me a Super NES with Street Fighter 2 Turbo included!!
The Special Championship Edition was only released for the Sega Megadrive and is a combination of the original Championship Edition and the Hyper/Turbo editions. It is every bit as good as the arcade and has the added advantage that you can vary the speed between original sluggish and really fast.
The controller is excellent too and is a reproduction of the 6-button Megadrive controller that was brought out specifically for playing SF2. I actually prefer this one as it weighs less and the D-pad has a "loose" feel to it making it easier to use.
Ghouls 'n' Ghosts is an underrated classic and although the Megadrive version isn't quite arcade perfect like SF2 is, this game is a lot of fun. The atmosphere of the game is still as good these days as it was when the game first came out and even though it can be quite frustrating at times due to its long distance between restart points, it is addictive and keeps you coming back for more.
If anything Ghouls 'n' Ghosts is a bonus to Street Fighter 2 which nicely compliaments it. It is a life saver when you just can't beat M. Bison after trying for the 20th time and feel like playing something else for a while (if only to stop you putting your foot through the TV!!!)
I can't tell you how long the batteries last for as I always run my machine from an AC adaptor. It doesn't come with one of these multi-adaptors, but they are very cheap and can be bought anywhere from your local Pound Shop to proper electrical shops.
In all I would thoroughly recommend this TV Game to anyone. For those of you who loved Street Fighter 2 back in the day this is an essential tool for reliving the days of challenging your mates to a punch up on the first 6-button arcade machine, and of pulling off Hadu-Kens and Sonic Booms just at the right moment to KO your opponent.
For those of you who never got into SF2 at the time, this is an opportunity to catch up on something you never should have missed!

- JUST AS GOOD A GAME AS I REMEMBERED IT TO BE
No better fighting game ever made than this. Modern games with quality graphics are good and well, but for game that two mates can just pick up and go, this can't be beaten. The game is exactly how it was on the megadrive. Only downside is it is battery run, no mains.
