- Dragonball Z: Budokai 2
I think that this game, Dragonball Z: Budokai 2 was just so fabulous. The graphics are even better than the first one, the dialogue is in English this time, and the story is even better.
You know that you had the "story mode" on the first game, but on this one, you have the "dragon mode". It is a lot similar to story mode, but you are on a map. You take the role of Goku, and you choose one or two allies for each map.
The story starts on the first map where Raditz and Nappa land on Earth and start looking for the Dragonballs.
On each map, before any fighting, you MUST go for the Dragon Radar so you can locate the dragonball on the map.
If a villain gets to a dragonball before you, or if Goku is killed, it's all over and you have to start from the beginning.
On the first map, after Raditz and Nappa land, Nappa plants some seeds and grows Saibamen.
As Goku and your ally, you go round the map fighting your enemies. After defeating Nappa and Raditz, you get the first dragonball and head off to the second Earth map, where Ginyu, Recoome and Frieza are. After this map, you head off to the Namek map, where Ginyu, Recoome, Frieza and Vegeta are waiting. On this map, defeat Vegeta and he will come to your side.
After Namek, you head back to Earth, where Dr. Gero is waiting for you. He then plants some more saibamen, but different colours. After defeating Gero, Androids 16, 17, and 18 will appear. After defeating them, Cell will appear and absorb 17 and 18. After defeating Cell, Goku senses a strange power in the city and finds the Supreme Kai. Defeat him (he is not bad, he just wants to see how strong Goku is), and he will reveal why he is here. He wants Goku to help him defeat the wizard Babidi and stop him awakening Majin Buu. Babidi then appears, along with his minion, Dabura. Babidi then brings back Frieza and Cell, and even creates a Majin Vegeta! On this map, you must not have more than three fights with Frieza, Cell or
M.Vegeta, or he will submit your energy to Majin Buu's egg, and he will hatch, and i'ts game over. After reaching the egg, Babidi and the egg will flee to the next map; the martial arts stadium. Here, Buu will hatch and kill Babidi. After defeating Buu, who is in his Fat-Form, he will transform into Super Buu and flee to the next map; the time-soul room. After defeating him, he will flee back to the city, and chase Gohan around and try to absorb him. If you are good at this, you can defeat Super Buu before he absorbs Gohan and you won't need to transform into Vegito. After defeating him, he will transform into his final form; Kid Buu, and destroy Earth. You flee to the final map; Supreme Kai's planet. Here, he will bring Frieza and Cell back one last time. Defeat Kid Buu, which is quite hard, and dragon mode is finished. And if you've collected all 7 dragonballs, you can wish for "Babidi's Spaceship" and get lots of Kili to unlock the 3 Buus and Dabura.
There are also many new characters like: The 3 Buus, Dabura, Videl, Adult Gohan, Goten, Kid Trunks, Supreme Kai, Vegito, Gokule, Tiencha, Kibitokai, and Gotenks. In this game, you can't have forms like Cell's first and second forms and Frieza's first form. But you can have Super Siayan 2 and 3 Goku, Super Saiyan 2 Vegeta and many more.
Enjoy!

- Good
When this game arrived, i was really excited, im not a real big fan of DBZ as i was 2 years ago but when i started playing, i realised what i missed. The graphics are amazing and the players actually speak English! I was dissapointed when i found out there was no story mode! there is a thing called dragon mode but its alright i guess. The thing i found that really anoyed me was that in The Majin Buu saga they added Frieza and Cell and i was like what the hell when did this happen in the Buu saga?. And later on when you face Kid Buu on the Kai's planet, you got to defeat all these saibamen and cell juniors along with Cell and Frieza! But the fusions and buu's absorb technique rule! Although when you do attacks like Gotenks super ghost kamekaze attack you have to gather Ki and fill up the Ki guage in the set time or it wont work! The explosions on The ki attacks rule and so do the build ups e.g. future Trunks's Burning attack! hav fun with this game, in my opinion its the best fighting game ever!

- The game for DBZ fans...
If you like fighting games, you will love this, if you like DBZ, you will never stop playing. The cell-shaded graphics are great, but sometimes on close-ups some bits are a bit fuzzy. The gameplay is exelent, and it is like a kind of board-game. You can play as 29 different people, eg: Goku, Gohan, Vegeta, Piccollo. But in dragon world(story mode) you can only play about ten of them, because most are evil people like buu. Even when you complete this you still want to play more, to unlock more characters. In dragon world, the plot doesn't have to go like it does on the series, and that is a very good thing. You can do fusions, Goku and Hercule with Potara who make Gokule, who looks like a Scoucer, Vegeta and Goku with Potara, Tien and Yamcha with regular fusion, they make the never befor seen Tiencha, Goten and Trunks and finally Kaoshin and Kibito to make Kobitoshin. If you do regular fusions badly, Tiencha goes old and Gotenks fat. This game deserves many more than five stars.

- Much better than the first Budokai game
This is a very good game, and is a distinct improvement over the first DBZ:Budokai. If you have not already got the first one, then skip it and go for this. The full DBZ story is covered in this game all the way through to the end of the Buu sagas, and you can unlock Buu as a playable character.
The first things you notice when you grab the controller and start to play are that most of the better moves are fairly easy to pull off, and that the graphics are much better than the first Budokai game. The quality of the explosions and smashing up of the backgrounds are also very good and it makes you grin the first time you blast your opponent through a mountain or building!
The sound effects and voices are pretty good in this game, the voices are in English, which is a great help, and the music in the game is quite groovy (mixture of jazz and rock) but will probably annoy some people after a while.
There are several game modes including, Tournament, Versus, and Dragonworld. Dragonworld is the mode in which the story from the cartoon series is played over. The story is covered in a pretty basic way, but you do get the key points so if you have not seen the cartoon then it will all make sense. The Dragonworld mode is a pretty fair idea playing like a kind of board game where you take control of the battles, but it has limited appeal in terms of replayability because after you have played it through 3 or 4 times you will have seen all the possible variations.
Before the game came out there was a lot of talk about being able to carry over your saved information from the first Budokai game. This is not a feature though, Budodai 2 is an entirely separate game.
Overall this is a very good game, but it won't keep you playing for a long time. Some of the combos are a bit too hard to pull off, and collecting all the capsules to unlock things gets to be a bit of a chore after a while. It is definitely the best DBZ game around at the moment and is a huge improvement over the original Budokai, but it doesn't quite match the quality and durability of games like Tekken 4 or SoulCalibur2.
