insert the memory card dongle that came with your action replay max into memory card slot 1 and not offical playstation 2 because you cannot save codes onto offical ps2 memory card ok
problem solved codes can be saved on action replay max

Rating: - Think twice before buying

The AR Max v3.30 has a fatal flaw, it is unable to load user settings and manually input codes. The pre-installed cheats are great and they work really well, but when you want to use a code which you have installed once already you have to go through the whole thing again, which is slightly frustrating by the tenth time!
If it wasn't for this one thing it could be a good product, so if you're thinking of buying this, think twice. Don't expect any help from Datel's customer service on this product, they have received numurous e-mails from several customers having this problem and we're still waiting for replies on the matter.

Rating: - Be advised -> Critical Flaws

I have previously used AR v2, which worked fine, and I was very happy with it (especially with use on GTA VC). Of course, they no longer support the v2 for new games.

However, the AR Max I was sent a few weeks ago does NOT work with my PS2.
On startup, it will not load any setting/user codes from my (official Sony & almost empty) memory cards.
Obviously this makes it impossible to save any new codes, which renders the AR Max absolutely pointless!!
So, before buying be strongly advised that this is not (yet) a flawless product.

Rating: - Why not get the Action Replay Max Evo version instead?

The Action Replay Max is great, it does everything for you. But the Action Replay Max Evo is even better .. Why? Because the Evo version which cost exactly the same also includes a 16MB USB flash drive in the box. This standard version doesn't even include a memory card like the older versions, you have to supply your own. So yes its worth getting but if you do get the Evo version and not this one like I just did :(
