- NO PROBLEMS WITH XP
Game installed & runs like a dream on my three year old XP system. My graphics card is a Nvidia GeForce 7600GT.
As always with the "Call of Duty" series this game is immersive and historically accurate (as close as a PC game can be!) with excellent attention to detail.
Don't be put off by the poor rating this game has got. It's in the same league as "Il Sturmovik 1946", "Silent Hunter 3 & 4", "Btothers in Arms", "Hidden & Dangerous II" etc. In other words it's excellent.

Runs like a dream on my SLI 8800GT sys, phenom 9500. No bugs whatsoever?
SP a bit short, multiplayer is great

- Awesome.
Having played the battlefield series of games over many years I felt the need for a change. And I'm glad I did. I haven't played the single player part of WAW because I like to challenge myself a bit more with human players. This game is simply awesome online, the graphics and sound are simply stunning (if you have a high-end machine). I also bought COD 4 but I prefer this game to the former, even though it's very good in it's own right.
Whatever you do you must get the flamethrower as it's so much fun toasting your enemies, it reminds me so much of Return to castle Wolfenstein.
Buy it.

So I've had this game for a few months now. Initial thoughts were "nice graphics!" Once I got into the game, the bugs really started to emerge. Freezing, crashes, stutters, you name it! Patch 1.1 fixed most of them, but now the whole system crashes in SLI. Not funny.
The graphics are quite nice when on full, and the flamethrower's appearance is quite astounding. I get solid 40fps when in a general firefight, but as soon as someone pops a smoke grenade the rate drops to ~20. Same goes for online, people use this to their advantage which isn't fair really.
Online is quite good, too. The selection of maps is fairly well strung, ranging from full on sniper maps to the very tight Dome map. "Zombie mode" is also VERY addicting, especially with the new mods that are out.
Patch 1.2 had screwed up the game, the thing wouldn't even start. Perfect shame.
Oh yeah, Treyarch have also mislabelled the PTRS-41 Anti Tank rifle as a Bolt Rifle (My sniper clan has had a huge discussion about this and the PTRS-41 is NOT a bolt rifle)
Overall (when it works) it is a hugely immersive FPS, with hugely disappointing bugs. Stick to COD4 if you want replayability coupled with reliability.

- Must do better
The main problem with this game, for me, was the time taken to load each mission - 10 or 15 minutes was not uncommon. The black screen mentioned by some reviewers was probably this. Initially I thought the PC had crashed. I have to admit that my PC and graphics card were probably working at their limits. Once loaded and working, the game was not sufficiently different, or better than its predecessors. The AI was not very intelligent and overall, I think it was a bit easier to play than COD4. It was also lacking in colour, especially in the jungle scenes - compare Far Cry, for example. I think that Activision are going to have to do better with COD6.
