Carole King was famous as a writer of girl group hits in the 1960s. In 1971, she became more famous. That's the year Tapestry became one of the biggest selling LPs of all time. It's easy to hear why--the music is loose, earthy, L.A. session-pop. King is casual, intimate, and tough; she covers all the emotional ground of the post-liberated woman with ease. She brings adult nuance to "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow?" and comes up with hits ("It's Too Late", "I Feel the Earth Move") whose white soul realism and maturity put pop hits to shame. --Steve Tignor

Rating: - Is what it always was
THE seminal album for all singer songwriters to follow. It's to replace my long worn out original vinyl. As good now as it was then. Xfactor kids, listen and learn!
Rating: - All Time Great
Carol Kings Classic hit album. One of the best things the great singer/songwriter has produced. Recommended.

I am staggered to see that both this album and Sweet Baby James by James Taylor somehow have a less than full five star rating. The albums are related through the work of the two artists and all I can say is that both are landmark works for the emergence of the singer/songwriter and in the development of country influenced rock. Both albums achieve providing timeless pleasure to the discerning ear whilst also creating popular appeal. Music and songwriting of the highest quality. If you dont have one or either album then do yourself a favour and set that straight asap! Whilst you are at it be sure to buy Mud Slide Slim by James Taylor as well. Ok I will jump off my soap box now. Youth of today, I dont know mumble mutter groan.
Rating: - Bought this classic again
In my LP record collection is a very well worn copy of Tapestry. I played it a huge amount whilst taking my degree just after it was released. I thought it was about time I added a CD to my collection so I could listen to it in the car or at work.
Most people will know many of Carole King's songs and will appreciate the clarity of her vocals with simple uncomplicated music. This is very easy to listen to and could easily be used as great background music. All the tracks a wonderful to listen to and I would highly recommend adding this classic album to your collection - no matter what age you are.

Great album. I bought it (LP) when it first came out but, as with the way of LP's, it eventually wore out.
Bought the mp3 download version and like the songs even more than my memory tells me I did in my younger days. Well worth the money
