Editorial Review
Hayseed Dixie meld the two most frequently and easily mocked forms of popular music metal and country. Let There Be Rockgrass is essentially an anthology of metal arranged for the banjo, fiddle, acoustic guitar and upright bass, sung with accents straight out of Deliverance.
As might be surmised from the title, Hayseed Dixie are especially fond of the works of AC/DC, reworking "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap", "You Shook Me All Night Long" and "Highway To Hell", among others. Other acts made to swap their spandex for denim are Aerosmith ("Walk This Way"), Kiss ("Detroit Rock City"), Queen ("Fat Bottom Girls") and, in a nod to contemporaneity, The Darkness ("I Believe In A Thing Called Love"). There are also a couple of original compositions. We await the next logical stage to this proposition: the world has waited too long for heavy-metal versions of "Folsom Prison Blues" and "Okie from Muskogee". --Andrew Mueller

- I've seen them play live
and they absolutely rocked. We loved the entire gig. They walk modestly onto stage and just started playing instead of the usual triumphalism you get from so many bands. They played almost all of the songs listed here, plus some Kiss numbers that I didnt know that well. Consummate musicians and modest too.

- Dungaree rock.
Time to crack open the moonshine, sit in yer rockin' chair on the porch. Great rock tracks in a bluegrass style. Nuff said.

- Hayseed Dixie - what a band!!
As a fan of AC/DC, a friend recommended this to me as an interesting take on the style. It is BRILLIANT. I mean, Ace Of Spade on banjo and violin??? What's not to like? Get it, your ears will love you for ever!

- Brilliant
Open you eyes and hearts (I'm a classic rock fan through and through), this is quality. Hayseeds' take on these rock tunes is at least as enjoyable as the originals. Perfect cruising music -stick it on your car stereo and sod the speed cameras. An endles toe-tapping delight. I shall buy more and learn to play bluegrass. Stimulating. Superb.
