Rating: 5 of out 5 - U rock Ms Fahey........

...was a tad dubious about this record, due to the time frame from its cceation, to its actual release.....nearly 8 years!!

Well, it's been well worth the wait. Totally different from the first and second albums, and all the better minus, Ms Detroit's high pitching wailing and annoying voice; this album is KILLER!!!

The cathcy Go, anthemic Can You Wait That Lng, glam of I Can Drive and the sheer excellence of Older Sister....this album is the best i've ever bought.

For info on Siobhan Fahey's you can now log onto www.siobhanfahey.com and see what she is upto!!!

Rating: 3 of out 5 - Shakespears sister this is NOT ....

As a fan of Shakespears Sister (SS), the recent release of a Best of and a new album is Xmas come early. The Best of is fantastic, full of good songs and nostalgia. This new album however is disappointing. SS is no more since Detroit left and a black hole has taken her place. Fahey moody and low voice is now lacking the contrasting balance of the high notes Detroit could delight us with. This album is more a Siobhan Fahey's solo effort and, apart for the 3 or 4 lively songs, I found the rest muddy and not particularly harmonious. A voice is missing, a harmonica is silent and a complicity has vanished: Shakespears Sister this is not. "Listen before buying".

Rating: 5 of out 5 - Purely excellent

It was a long time coming, but after getting of the bitter break up of the band, Siobhan decided to go out on her own and produce the best album under the name 'Shakespear's Sister' that there has ever been. Edgy, fantastically dark, and annoyingly catchy, you have to have it in your album. Although it's completely unlike the other two previous released from Shakspear's Sister, you can get a good gauge of the kind of album it is if you ever heard 'The trouble with André' on their second album, Hormonally Yours.

The best tracks to be found here are 'Go', 'Do I Scare You?', 'Singles Party', and the fantastic 'Older Sister', but by far the best song here is the amazing 'Opportunity Knockers'.

'I Can Drive', 'Can You Wait That Long', and 'Excuse Me, John' all make for very good filler tracks, even though they are the kind of music that would be the outstanding tracks on any other album. The only two disappointments on here are 'Oh Dear', which is... rustic, and of course, the final track, 'Never Could Sing', which is an incredibly poor track to close on. For me, this album effectively ends after 'Singles Party'

All in all, it really is a five star album, five stars for effort, and while her voice might not be as high pitched as Marcella Detroit's, Siobhan's deep crooning tone makes this album 100% listenable.

Rating: 5 of out 5 - Worth the wait!

This is the 3rd album from Shakespears Sister, and it's a fantastic one it is. Delayed for nearly 10 years because a certain Radio 1 dj thought the youth market wouldn't listen to music from a nearly 40 something woman, it goes to prove little do they know.
Sure, it's not a frivilous pop album, it has dark, edgy lyrics, but often set to upbeat backing.
A few of the songs remind me of bit of T-rex, but they are slightly more punky and lots of fun.
Siobhan Fahey has a wicked way with a lyric, one of my favourite lines comes from 'Opportunity Knockers' - "Here comes those tired old tits again" - excellent!
The dance track 'Can You Wait That Long' is stunning, as is the drug track 'Excuse Me John', which kinda reminds me of a singalong bar song! I love the irony of 'I Could Never Sing Anyway', and whilst she doesnt have the bets voice in the world, her gravelly, sexy tones work perfectly.
Marcella Detroit was know longer in the group at this point, and the music does NOT suffer as a result. (She was only ever lead vocal on 1 single 'Stay').
Co-produced with Dave Stewart (Eurythmics and Siobhans ex husband), he has said this is the best album he has worked on.
This is a mature pop album, from a woman who has been around for 20 years, and deserves to be around for a lot longer.

Rating: 5 of out 5 - #3

I got this album about 10 months ago (it was available to buy at www.siobhanfahey.com) and I'm glad to see it's been given a general release, although Shakespear's Sister's biggest hit was "Stay" where Marcella Detroit took lead vocals, Siobhan Fahey is was the lead singer, "Stay" is completely different to their other stuff, the voices compliment each other nicely though, I think "Hormonally Yours" is their best album but this would be 2nd, "Sacred Heart" is very 80's and very "pop" which I'm not a big fan of (maybe in my early teens but not at 21) - this album is dark, stand out tracks are "I Can Drive," "Excuse Me John," "Do I Scare You?" and "I Never Could Sing Anyway."
