Driving home after Christmas, in the early hours of Boxing Day, with these Cd's playing.....magical.

My sons suprised me this year buying a Christmas present that I wanted the Blue Guitars box set.

I was never a big Chris Rea fan. Apart from Shamrock Diaries his records in the 70's and Eighties left me cold.

This disc set, however, is exceptional.

Forget about it being a Chris Rea Blues complialation. If you appreciate moody magnificance, feel good grooves and smooth sounds underpinned by superb musicianship this is the one for you.

Exceptional value and not one duffer amongst the 11 CDs of music.

Rating: - A Musical Masterpiece

This has got to be the musical masterpiece of the 21st. Century! Chris takes the listener through an exhaustive but magical tour of music, emphasising how each phase of music has its origins fixed firmly in the Blues. That is not to say that you need to be a fan of the Blues to appreciate the music laid down here. As Chris himself states, it is not an album to educate. I am only a third of the way through the albums and have to say that it is the best collection of music that I have. Buy it!

What else I can say after all these amazing and truly deserved reviews on Chris Rea's Masterpiece. He is the "Leonardo" of Music....I have only listened to 2 CDs and I am not normally crazy about Country Blues and yet.....I don't usually buy CDs either. but this is a bargain not just for the price. This is a piece of Art, 18 months, 12 hours a day..unbelievable!!!

I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A CASUAL CHRIS REA FAN, MAINLY
BECAUSE OF HIS SLIDE GUITAR PLAYING, NOT SO MUCH FOR HIS CHART HITS.THIS ALBUM HAS GOT TO BE HIS FINEST WORK, AND FOR ME HAS TAKEN HIM INTO A DIFERENT LEAGUE.
IT IS BRILLIANT AND FANTASTIC VALUE. WELL DONE CHRIS FOR
HAVING THE gutts TO PUT IT OUT, STAYING TRUE TO SOMETHING
YOU ARE OBVIOUSLY SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.
