- absolutely the most exelentay album ever!!!!!!!!
one of the very best albums the phenominal chili peppers have ever done. from the bittersweet 'my friends' to the groovy 'aeroplane', the album is 100% worth the money and i would recommend this to any one. the one track i always have on repeat is 'one big mob', as the change in tune about a third of the way in is beyond marveloso. BUY IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

- Fairly this is the best RHCP album
Best producted, best mixed.
Very verastile. I feel kind of a hugh drop on Californication, which doesn't come close to this one. This is a different (better) sounding RHCP, probably due to the existance of Dave Navvaro on this record, which bring new sound to the band
(less funcky, more rocky).
5 stars at least !!

- One Hot Minute
Though not as popular as albums like Blood Sugar and Mother's Milk, I enjoyed this album. This record is one you have to grow into and listen to it a few times to really appreciate it. People say it's much more heavier because of the presence of Dave Navarro and I suppose it is but don't let that put you off.
The opening song, Warped, has a great guitar riff but at first I didn't like this track. Maybe the blurry lyrics or the noise put me off but once I had listened to it, it turned into one of my favourite tracks. Then Aeroplane came and you can't help but love this tracks with the superb lyrics and chorus, it's truly sublime.
The song Deep Kick isn't one of my favourites; Kiedis speaks the words for the first minute and half then it bursts into life. It turns into a good song but it perhaps it goes on for too long (over 6 minutes). Then comes one of the ballads which link up the whole album. My Friends and Tearjerker are the best slow tracks.
The fifth track has to be one of RHCP's best songs, Coffee Shop.It has fantastic guitar and brillant lyrics like 'searching for the unknown crumb, the crumb' and 'dance like Iggy Pop'. After this superb track is Pea. There's nothing wrong with this song; it's got a good beat and a good time to recover from dancing to the Coffee Shop.
One Big Mob is a good track with the chant 'One big mob aw yeah aw yeah'. After there is Walkabout. This is a great funky track and is cool and simple.
The title track One Hot Minute also took time to grow on me but it's fantastic especially the line 'Sitting in the fi-eerrr'.
Then there is Falling into Grace also a great funky song. It's one of my favourites and the chanting in the background adds to it's greatnss.
Then there comes one of the best tracks; Shallow Be Thy Game. You love this tarch straight away with the guitar intro and the build up to the superb lyrics. The chorus 'You'll never burn me' is exceptional. I've seen it described as the true rock anthem and you can't argue. The final track, Transcending, is a beautiful song to end the album with the second half having a heavier edge.
I can see why some might not like this album but give it a chance. It's not my favourite RHCP album, the fave being Blood Sugar but I wouldn't be without it. It would be in my top three and is worth only ten pounds. A superb album.

Having read reviews for this album i noticed many were negative. One Hot Minute is not my favourite RHCP's album( favouite being Blood Sugar Sex Magik) it still contributes many good tunes. The top songs have to be Coffee Shop, Aeroplane and perhaps Falling into Grace The slower tracks worth a mention are My Friends and Tearjerker. Shallow be thy Game, One Big Mob, Walkabout and One Hot Minute are also good tunes. I have read many poor reviews of Pea sung by Flea, personally i like this track swearing included and it a good song to have in the middle of the album. Many think this is an album difficult to listen to, but that's whole experience and worth adding to your RHCP collection.

- Two steps back from greatness..
A deeply disappointing release at the time(1995),The chili's sixth album is possibly the hardest one to listen to straight through.Sandwiched between the superior 'Mothers milk' and 'Bloodsugarsexmagik' on one side, and 'Californication' and 'By the way' on the other,it cant help but seem a little mediocre, certainly in comparison to those great albums.
The problems included new guitarist Dave Navarro's uncertain position in the band, leading to a confused funk metal sounding group that really thought they were a metal band, the disastrous track 'pea' being an example.
These songs are poorly written and produced, lacking the charming all out funk/rap style of its predecessors and the superior production and songcraft of its follow-ups.The best tracks here are 'Aeroplane' and 'My friends' which skilfully follow the verse-chorus formula, yet as both boast such catchy melodies this can be more than overlooked. The ill-conceived likes of opener 'Warped',the overlong 'One big mob',the confused title track and final wheeze of a track'Transcending' really do hammer the nails in,though.
