Average rating - 4.5 out of 5

Rating: 5 of out 5 - if you're gonna buy one rammstein album......

....make it this one. More refined than Herzeleid, but more raw, sheer power than Mutter. It features some of Rammstein's best songs, including the superb Bestrafe Mich, the classic Du Hast, the emotionally powerful and dramatic Klavier and the infamous Buck Dich. Every song on this album is a masterpiece in its own right, whether it be with riffs that could scare the hell out of any Metallica or Slayer fan, lyrics that make Marilyn Manson sound like The Smurfs, dramatic wagnerian vocals or just a great sound! The one down side is that the keyboards verge on cheesy sometimes (Eifersucht)....

Rating: 5 of out 5 - Superb industrial neo-goth german crunchiness. Ooer

Even tho I don't really know what the hell my review title actually means, it sounds damn impressive. And thus is the case with Rammstein. I don't speak a word of German, but the music and it's power purely speaks for itself. The raw power of the crunching guitar riffs, the barking german lyrics from Til Lindemann, and the emotional pomp of orchestral arrangement. A must for any heavy metal or industrial fan....

Rating: 5 of out 5 - Kick ass yet with subtle(ish) moments.

I had this album for months before I really listened to it. Rammstein produce the most intelligently executed industrial around. The synths really balance out the sound. The third album will be heavier but I hope they have kept the synths turned up. They sound better live also.

Rating: 4 of out 5 - I don't know how I survived without it for 3 years!

Being a typical Brit, and having not been subjected to much rock in my lifetime (due to national preference of trance/techno/pop), in my relative ignorance I would say that this (admittedly old) album of Rammstein's is one of the best heavy rock albums I have ever come across. German is definitely the right language for this sort of music - aggressive and harsh! There were no songs that I skipped through...I love them all, particularly "Du Hast", "Sehnsucht" and "Bestrafe Mich". The only criticism I would have is that a couple of songs were a bit thin, and required an extra layer of instrumentalisation (a continuous train of bass and vocalist can cause a lot of songs to "merge" into each other and sound very similar). But nevertheless, Rammstein have done an extremely good job, and the lyrics are amazing - very well thought out and some really deep! BUY IT!

Rating: 4 of out 5 - Top notch!

This album has to be one of the best that I have listened to in quite a while. I got the limited edition of Sehnsucht with 2 excellent bonus tracks/remixes. Well worth the extra, oh hang on it's the same price - get it now!

I noticed that the album was released in 1998 and that I got number album number 18 - so this means that they must sell about 9 albums per year bless'em. Don't let this put you off it's a great album.
