Haunting, too.
NOT, as someone has written, what I'd listen to if I wanted to avoid slashing my wrists.
Nevertheless...
It IS the kind of thing I'd listen to for inspiration. It's a complex body of work that is the furthest end of the spectrum from what they like to call "Easy Listening". It's something of a challenge to listen to the entire album without pausing to take your pulse and maybe have a dose of something to make you unreasonably happy.
Not for the faint hearted. Most of the tracks are positivel funereal.
On the other hand, I now know what I DON'T want played at my own passing out parade.
Still, check it out.
Kinda frothy, in an alternatively funky kind of way.

Bought this years back and dont get confused with dcd ,yes its lisa gerrard but this album could be better. Not that many tracks actually appealed to me. She has done better.Well take a look at the best of lisa gerrard album well it contains many dcd tracks...........mmm

Very beautifull deep dark & black. If you like Dead Can Dance, This Mortal Coil, David Sylvian this is quite possibly for you.
Extremely dark gothic classical beauty.... Just don't play it too much if you have just lost your sweetheart!!!

Rating: - eerie and astonishing

The voice of Lisa Gerrard is the most uplifting and mesmerising voice i've ever heard.
I have a few albums by "Dead Can Dance" which all take pride of place in my collection (favourite; "A passage in time") The Mirror Pool is up there with them.
Amazing!!!

Rating: - Wonderful voice

I had never heard of Lisa Gerrard and then all of a sudden I heard such beautiful sad music with a tv commercial of the World Life Fund. It was about animals who could not find any place to live anymore, thanks to our building roads and houses in their world and not leaving them anything anymore. I think the voice of Lisa is just wonderful and I can recommend anyone her records.
