Average rating - 4.0 out of 5

Rating: 4 of out 5 - Soft rock classic

I suppose that whether or not you'll like this album depends on whether or not you like Bryan Adams. If you do, then you may well agree with me that this is one of his finest albums. Otherwise, you may still like Reckless but this is typical of his style - soft rock reminiscent to me of The Eagles and Don Henley. If you aren't a fan of soft rock , Reckless will probably do nothing for you.

Personally, however, I am a fan of Bryan's, and find his songwriting to be excellent. Not only that, but he does have a great singing voice and he can also come up with a great riff from time to time (It's Only Love, for example). Reckless is a classic Adams album, and will probably be the one a lot of his fans will prefer to his most recent work (though I loved Here I Am and Cloud No9).

As I said before, if you don't like Bryan Adams, it's fair to say that Reckless probably won't do much to change your opinion. But I personally think it's a great album.

Rating: 5 of out 5 - An absolute classic.

Most of the material released by Bryan Adams during his long career has been mediocre at best. BUT... in the mid 80s he made this album and I will always be grateful to him that he did! After 16 years of regular listening, I still love it just as much. Raw energy, unpolished production and good songs all contribute to its magic. Quite simply, this is one of the best albums ever made.

Rating: 5 of out 5 - The kids wanna rock!

This is one of the greatest albums ever written. From the power of kids wanna rock to the timeless classic of Summer of 69 this album leaks quality like a cracked drainpipe full of gold.

Rating: 1 of out 5 - Why all the fuss?

Undoubtably Bryan Adams best and most successful album but neither of these qualify to rate the album as good. Sure Summer of 69 is a solid track, with nostaga, solid guitar loops and even some production values but take a moment to listen to any of his other lyrics. Sure most of his fans bypass such minor details but to those who believe songwriting is an important aspect to an artist, Bryan Adam's Reckless is the showpiece to such absenteeism. Don't believe the hype take a moment to judge for yourself.

Rating: 5 of out 5 - Bryan Adams at his best

This is Bryan Adams' finest album and one that is just as enjoyable to hear now as when it came out. The production, arrangements, songwriting, singing, playing are all faultless (with the exception of the silly "Kids wanna rock"). From up-front rockers ("One night love affair", "Summer of '69", "Somebody", "It's only love") to the incredible power-ballad "Heaven" and the mid-tempo "Run to you", I can find no reason to criticise this album.

BA may be passing ungracefully into middle age, but this album is his legacy and will stand the test of time.
