- Another Fantastic Album.
Of course, any Guns N' Roses album is great, and this just adds to the collection. The cd has a great sound quality with a pretty cool inlay to go with it. The cd consists of Guns N' Roses live performances over six years, and shows their true rock n' roll colours. All of the songs performed sound great and every now and then you'll hear Axl talking to the crowd; at one point he tries to get thousands of people in the crowd to step back because people are getting hurt at the front of the gig! Overall, this is a MUST for any GN'R fan.
Not one to be missed!

- SUPERB
In my opinion this is the Greatest Hits for Guns N' Roses, not as many covers on the CD as there is on the actual Greatest Hits CD. It has every song from Appetite For Destruction and the best from the Use Your Illusion albums.
Having never seen or heard the band live before hearing this CD I was a little upset with it at first but it really grows on you. The way AXL's screams aren't exactly in tune every time and the guitar solo's aren't exactly the same as the studio albums, but that's live music and you can almost feel the sole of the band through this album.
Some versions of the songs on this album are actually better than the studio releases, there is a great version of Used To Love Her on this album, I also think Estranged on this album is fantastic.
All in all this is a must have album for any Guns N' Roses fan even if just to get a feel for what the band must of been like to see live. I would even rate this as my 2nd favourite Guns N' Roses CD behind Appetite.
Go buy it!

- Have your own private concert
This album is fantastic. The sound is so crisp and clear, it's like having your own personal Guns N' Roses concert. The recording is excellent with all the instruments sounding perfect. It is brilliant to hear Slash using different guitars (Gibson Les Paul, his 12 string double guitar, etc), Matt beating the life out of the skins of his drums and cymbals (each cymbal can be distinguished), Duff pulling the strings of his bass and all the other band members doing their backing stuff. As one can expect from great live acts, each song is different to the album version with great guitar riffs which are extended and unique. Axl screaming his tonsils off on some of the songs like 'Sweet Child O' Mine', the ending is just so great.
It definitely helps if you have seen GnR Use Your Illusion Tour in Tokyo on DVD, as when these songs are listened to, you can imagine exactly what you have seen on the DVD. It would have been ideal if the drum solo and guitar solos could have been included onto the album.
The 2 disc CD is excellent with most of the great songs present and LIVE.
Although the title of the album suggests live recording sessions from 1987 - 1993, the live concerts more sound like recording from 1991 - 1992, but that's probably credit due to the sound engineers as this album sounds like one whole concert.
This album is a MUST for any GnR fan, but if you like your rock music and familiar with GnR, then this is a great album to hear possibly one of the greatest bands doing their stuff.

- G N' R Live Era
This album is a must for Guns fans. I got it about a year ago and its still in my CD player! Never tired of hearing it. Excellent live versions of their greatest songs, such as November Rain and You Could Be Mine. The rest are great too but those two songs are excellent on this album.

- Eat at Joe's
Certainly worth a listen, an offering from a band with proven prowess in both live performance and the studio. But something is missing. Naturally, being live, it lacks the polish of their studio albums, however, if that were a serious issue they wouldn't have packed out stadiums night after night. Perhaps it is more to do with the fact that hearing the concerts without seeing them tends to hilight technical flaws whilst at the same time removing some of what made them so magical in the first place, ie. the visual impact of the show.
It does, however, contain some nice stuff with Axl fooling around on the piano, and a rather cool version of Black Sabbath's "It's Alright". If you are willing to forgive the imperfections, or just crank it right up, shut your eyes and pretend you're there, it's a decent purchase for those who are already fans.
