- hmmm... definitely NOT the best album by far
Well, what can I say... I'm a HUGE fan of the Corrs and love their music, and I must admit I was terribly excited getting their new album In Blue. But, after hearing the brilliantly fantastic 'Forgiven not Forgotten' and 'Talk on Corners', I must say, I was quite depressed and disappointed. The lead single, 'Breathless', 7/10, is OK, but it really annoyed me after listening. Give me A Reason - 9/10 - was better, with a funky pop tune and great vocals from Andrea. Somebody for Someone was 10/10 coz it's one of my FAVOURITE songs on the album with a great urban tune and one that'll soon get you going. Say - 7/10 - and All the Love in the World 8/10 were not as good but still, better than some with funny pop tunes and exciting vocals and instruments. Radio was fabulous - a definite 10/10. I love the song and it was SPECTACULAR!!! Irresistible is another of my favourites - 10/10. Like Radio, I play it again AND again. One Night and All in a Day are both 6/10 and are quite boring. Skip them after a few times. At Your Side 8/10 was OK, but I WAY preferred the unplugged version, but it was quite cool. No More Cry 9/10 was a FANTASTIC song, all emotional and fantasizing when you listen to it. Then comes Rain, a strange song that stands out from the album, with funny lyrics and a weird chorus - 8/10, because it was cool and interesting. Give It All Up is 6/10 - OK but just a pop song you easily forget. I loved Hurt Before and Rebel Heart (the instrumental) as they were both exciting, fun and beautiful songs, especially the instrumental Rebel Heart. A GREAT album, but when you know the Corrs' music as well as I do, you'll probably be a bit disappointed.

- Corrs' 3rd album - not bad at all
The Corrs' third album, released after they had really hit the big time with previous effort 'Talk on Corners', has received a mixed reception - some consider it well worth listening to, yet others think of it more of a breakaway from The Corrs' trademark folk-style music to a more poppy sound.
The first track is single 'Breathless', a simple and upbeat song similair to 'So Young', though not quite as good. There are some real highlights too, including next track 'Give me a reason', a song so similair to many of the band's, with a moody verse and a brighter chorus. Other standout tracks are 'Radio' and 'Say'. 'All the love in the world' is a slow track which can be a little boring at times - maybe one to skip over.
Other good sounds include the meaningful tracks 'Hurt Before' and 'One Night', as well as a very 80s-sounding 'Irresistable' and the cheerful if sadness-tinged 'Somebody for Someone'.
The poppiest songs on the album are also great - 'At your side' and 'Give it all up' - however the other songs are all a little forgetful. That seems to be the only real downside to the album; ten good songs with three or four fillers. The final track, in typical Corrs fashion, is a relaxing instrumental, 'Rebel Heart', a song which allows Caroline, Jim and especially Sharon to show off their often under-used musical skills. Well worth buying.

- I give it my highest rating!
The Corrs are an authentic Irish band, composed of three sisters and a brother, from Dundalk, Ireland. Jim Corr plays guitar and keyboard, Sharon plays the violin, Caroline plays the drums and Bodhran (frame drum), and Andrea plays the tin whistle and is the group's lead singer. Not only good looking, these young people are extremely talented, known for their unique blend of traditional Irish music and modern pop.
Their album, Forgiven Not Forgotten (a personal favorite!) has a lot of that great Irish sound, while this one leans more heavily towards the pop side! Heck, the first track is their smash hit, Breathless! I loved that song, but my favorite is Somebody For Someone, which is very nice. Sister Andrea has a great singing voice - in the tune Rain (track 12), I swear that if I close my eyes, I could imagine that it is Karen Carpenter singing (I loved the Carpenters). But, in all of the rest of the tunes, her voice is definitely her own, which is wonderful to hear.
So, if you like pop music and you like Irish music, then I would say that this CD is for you. As for me, I give it my highest rating!

- The Corrs at their best yet.
Despite being greeted with mixed reviews, I find this the best album The Corrs have ever done. They take on a whole new direction and expeiment with many music genres: indy, funk and even reggae!
The Corrs seem to come in to their own on the tracks "Gimme a Reason", "Rain" and "Hurt Before". "Gimme a Reason" is a funky number with a fabulous bassline, it will stay in your head for a looong time.
"Rain" is a truly beautiful song with the lovliest lyrics. "A guardian angel of silver and ice" soars Andrea Corr over a melancholy backing.
"Hurt Before" is another beautiful song about a hurt young woman feeling alone.
"In Blue" is a great album that covers a wide range of musical styles. You do not have to be a fan to truly enjoy this. Buy it.

- Didn't leave me breathless
The Corrs's first album, "Talk On Corners" was something different; pop music with a Celtic touch without being too folky and boring. Having enjoyed their first album, I bought this when it came out. Unfortunately, for this album they have lost the Celtic addition of their music; this really does sound like any other pop group. This is a great shame - although you cannot deny that Andrea Corr has a fantastic voice, why fix something that isn't broken?
Instead of having instruments such as the tin whistle or violin more prominent on the tracks, this album seems to have song after song where drums appear to dominate. It seems that they eventually sold out and went for a more mainstream sound, producing an album which any pop artist could have produced. Perhaps it is because of this that, since this album's release, we haven't heard much from the Corr family.
For what it is worth, my favourite songs are "Breathless" and "One Night".
