- The Corrs - In Blue-ENCORR-ENCORR!
While i do not, by any means presume to have the expertise, or audacity to analyze another's creative work, i sure do know what i love. i love music; i adore the Corrs. Moreover, their latest studio album, In Blue, solidifies my admiration of the band. True, 'In Blue' differs from the Corrs' other ingenious outputs; just as 'Talk on Corners' varied from 'Forgiven Not Forgotten'. It is hard to pick a favourite Corrs CD, because they are all so diverse, yet true to the Corrs' core. In my most humble opinion, i do not believe Jim, Sharon, Caroline and Andrea deviated from the Corrs sound, as some accuse. They have progressed as a band, and as a band should.
The more i listen to the Corrs' music, the more i appreciate it. i truly do. This proves the same with 'In Blue'. The CD is like a smorgasbord, teeming with rich, layered songs.
Because i thoroughly enjoy the whole of 'In Blue', i will simply list my favourites songs as they came to me on my first list to the CD. (i will endeavour to be as unbiased as i possible can.) Breathless, i already knew by heart, forwards and backwards, from repetitive plays of the single. (as a side note, 'Head in the Air' and 'Judy' are great songs). Therefore, i skipped forward to 'Give me a Reason'.
i love 'Give me a Reason' Please allow me to list several reasons why i love this song: This song has everything in it; Jim's funky keyboards; Caroline's impeccable and creative beat. Sharon's violin is as passionate as Andrea's singing. 'My makeup's off'. i love that line. i love this song.
'Somebody for Someone'; Listen to this song with headphones. You'll hear acoustic guitars, and the bohran, and harmonic background vocals. The violin and the piano break are beautiful. Andrea's voice is like a fine wine, it really is.
'Say'; say, i really like this song! i like how it starts; the bass, the keyboards, the drums. Again, the vocal arrangements amaze me.
'Radio'; the acoustic version of Radio is possibly my all time favourite song. In Blue's version of 'Radio' is a danceable bonus. It's like having my chocolate cake and eating it too.
'No More Cry'; this song is very upbeat in spite of its tragic inspiration. That fact alone makes this an incredible song. Now we season it with Andrea's zeal, Caroline's kick-butt drumming, and great guitars! 'Rain' sets a sultry mood...slow beat, muffled keyboards, a bluesy guitar, harmonies, and an affecting violin solo. And if you listen closely, you can hear the tin whistle.
'Rebel Heart' Another melodic instrumental from the band. The violin and the tin whistle create harmonies of which i just can't seem to get enough.
Each song on 'In Blue' offers something to which one should attune. The vocal arrangements of 'All the Love in the World', the bouncy 'Give it all Up', the pensive 'Hurt Before'; Alas, i am restricted to 1000 words. And so, i conclude in opining, 'In Blue' is a fabulous piece of work. It really is. The Corrs continue to impress as they progress as great musicians, singer-songwriters, and producers. Thank-you, again Corrs!

- IF YOU ONLY BUY ONE ALBUM THIS YEAR, MAKE IT THIS ONE!
This is a simply stunning album. Highlights are 'Rebel Heart', an instrumental, penned by Sharon Corr, 'Somebody for Someone', a Carpenters-esque number, and the moving, yet rockin' 'No More Cry'. Each of the songs on this album is special in it's own way and, although the majority of the songs are a complete change in style for The Corrs, in my humble opinion, this is their best album to date!

- Absolutely fantastic but different from previous albums.
This album is a breath of fresh air for Corrs fans taking their music a little step away from what made them famous in the first place which is brave. Then again this band has never really had a game plan ~ they just make music because that is what they love to do. I have no need to defend them from critics as they are a real band, with real history and REAL talent who continuously outshine themselves. This album is full of wonderful words, harmonic voices of the family, magical music. Simply lovely...

- Competent collection of Corrs
The much-publicised In Blue was the album that was supposed to break open the American market for the talented family from Dundalk. They had the dilemma of departing sufficiently from their traditional style yet retaining the sound that has endeared them to hundreds of thousands of us around the planet. They achieved it...almost.
What has been produced is markedly less Irish in flavour and more transatlantic - it's easy listening, if that is what you seek, and there are some very good tracks on this disc. One can hear the emotion belted through the speakers in No More Cry - written for bereaved Dad Gerry Corr. It has also added a much needed commodity of a larger repertoire - one can only enjoy so many remixes of the same material!
However, this is not the classic Corrs disc - Talk on Corners is better. In repackaging and remodelling the group, a little of their magic has been obscured. Let's hope that the next offering reveals it once more.

- Another good album from the Corrs
Unlike others who have listened to the album and say the change in types of music is disappointing, I loved it. This album provides such variety, its hard to get tired of it. I find it hard to believe that people are disappointed when they listen to "polished" music. Its another well done job by the Irish phenoms the Corrs
