Rating: 5 of out 5 - The Corrs Do it Again ! 1

The Corrs prove why they are one of the biggest musical groups to date. In Blue had reached number 1 in at least 15 different countries and is now set to take on America. Comprised of three sisters and a brother the Corrs write adn perform all their own music. In Blue is a much more honest record. The lyrics reveal a vulnerable side to the Corrs. Filled with a mix of up-beat and relaxing songs In Blue is sure to be a success in the USA.

Rating: 3 of out 5 - One word - SELLOUT!

Well, we can see what happened here. The Corrs (or perhaps more accurately, their management) decided to chase after the money and ignore what the Corrs are actually about; they had their Irish-poppy niche, and it worked. So what happens? They start going for chart success.

The result is what we have here. And small wonder that a lot of critics panned it. Tracks like Rain and Give It All Up are just blatant filler material, All The Love In The World is obviously the produce of Mr Twain (probably originally intended for Shania) and don't even get me started on Say. However, there are good signs on this; Rebel Heart is right up there with Toss The Feathers in the instrumental stakes, while tracks like Give Me A Reason and All In A Day still carry some of the brilliance they showed on Talk On Corners. However, one suspects that the next album will need to be a return to their roots if it is to avoid alienating the fan base that TOC built up, as this really is a waste of their obvious talent. This album is far too nice; it's a lousy word, I know, but it sums up the album fairly well. There's nothing like No Good For Me on here (the nearest they get is Hurt Before, but even that's got fluff).

Final summary; we all wanted a new TOC. What we got was a new TOC:SE.

Rating: 3 of out 5 - Not a bad album

Previous Corrs albums in my collection such as Forgotten not Forgotten has gained higher preference from me.

This album is not their best work, but is still worth buying. Their best tracks are Breathless and Radio in this album. For many top artists, their is some tendency for certain tracks to lack originality. Basically, every track sounds the same. My finial comments of this album is that their is too many tracks which are quite unnecessarily. It should been narrowed down to 10 tracks. But a good album from a great band.

Rating: 4 of out 5 - Corrs moving away from Irish roots

After just buying the American version of this album today, it is sad to hear that the Corrs are moving away from their Irish roots. Despite this, after a few plays the album is easy on the ear, with a few upbeat moments. A good album to relax with after a stressful day at work!

Rating: 4 of out 5 - The dawning of Irish Folk Pop?

I have not always been a Corrs fan, but lets be honest, you hardly get a collection of prettier sisters (and brother) on the cover a CD. This was my first attraction to the Corrs, and then I listened to UNPLUGGED, and was an immediate fan. With the release of IN BLUE, I had some mixed feelings, but believe me; this album does grow on you! The highlights on this album are:

BREATHLESS: High energy, incredibly catchy pop tune. It will manage to put a smile on your face.

GIVE ME A REASON: A mid tempo song in which The Corrs demonstrate that they have lost none of their Irish ness!

SOMEBODY FOR SOMEONE: A melancholy tune about a girl crying out for love.

SAY: Not my favourite Corrs song, as this has too much of a pop injection.

ALL THE LOVE IN THE WORLD: Another melancholy song about loneliness, this will definitely pull your heartstrings.

RADIO: Wow, this is my favourite remix of Radio. Chris Rea would have been proud of those guitar riffs.

IRRESISTIBLE: Up-tempo pop. Enough said.

ONE NIGHT: This has to be my new favourite Corrs song. Gosh, this has been produced beautifully; it will definitely put you in the mood for love. Ok, so the song is a wee bit superficial and cheesy, but cheese is good!

ALL IN A DAY: Mediocre attempt, it proves to be disappointing. AT YOUR SIDE: You all know this song, now here is the studio version. Personally, I still prefer the Unplugged version.

NO MORE CRY: I enjoy this up-tempo song, not a typical Corrs song, as it has a strong sixties influence.

RAIN: This is another mediocre mid-tempo offering, not memorable at all.

GIVE IT ALL UP: OK, there is no way you can make reggae and Irish folk music work together. What where they thinking?

HURT BEFORE: This is a beautiful love song, guaranteed to get you humming along.

REBEL HEART: Amazing Irish folk instrumental. Sharon exceeds with the violin in this piece. I can listen to this song over and over.

On the whole, I feel that the album is a bit "overproduced", and perhaps the Corrs have become too mainstream, but nonetheless, they are incredibly talented and it makes In Blue a worthwhile purchase.
