Rating: - Some great songs and cool guitar

I first heard this CD on the hifi system in a pub in the middle of Devon. Realising I was listening to some songs that really catch the ear I was forced to ask the barmaid what was playing. Well I had a slight suspicion that Mark Knopfler was involved.

Favourite has to be "Prairie Wedding" - fabulous lyrics that tell a really human story about mail order brides out in the West. There are a number of others almost as good with lyrics that have a real catch, some of the usual cool guitar from Mr Knopfler and excellent support from the other musicians.

Rating: - A Dire Straits update

I have enjoyed Dire Straits since the 70s/80s, but actually like this, Mark Knopfler on his own, even better. Quick delivery.

This is a great solo album from Mark Knopfler and I essentially bought it for the title song. It is a pioneering song linking the USA and UK which is probably why its so popular, not to mention the ducet tones of James Taylor on this song too. He needs to write more songs like this if he wishes to remain a solo performer.

This CD/Download is great. Very soothing music not his old stuff he did with Dire Straits but better!
Must buy for guitar lovers!

This time Knopfler has exceeded himself.. the music is modern and well paced with the old dire straits influence hauntingly in the background. It has a theme and you can understand the lyrics... a pleasure to own and listen to.
