- The Best Rock album in recent memory
Basically put, this album is the best rock album I have heard in ages. The line up of this band though was always going to produce a classic like this. Josh Homme, the song writer and guitarist, Nick Oliveri, the insane hedonistic bass player with a penchant for playing naked. Coupled with Nark Lanegan from The Screaming Trees, this is a line up that cannot fail. Every song on the album is a brilliant piece of stoner rock. From the opening blast of 'Feel Good Hit Of The Summer' to the brilliantly mellow 'Autopilot' through to the album's end track, the epic 'I Think I Lost My Headache' This album even contains my favourite Queens song ever, 'Monsters In The Parasol' This album is a must have for anyone who has even a passing interest in music. A brilliant piece of powerful, mellow, stoned, exciting music, quite simply, this album is genius and cannot be overlooked by anyone.

- QOTSA Review
Rated R is probably the best album of 2000 for me. This is a great album but I strongly advice anyone to buy the first self titled album first or aswell. It is a masterpiece not only of Queens of the Stone Age but of the whole of stoner rock. It is such an intense album with incredible melodies and harmony. I have owned this album for years and I listen to it all the time yet I could never get tired of it. It is an album that you can put on and listen to the whole thing without wanting to skip a single track. You won't want to miss a second of it.
Rated R is quite different from the first. Unlike many bands who seem to produce crap albums after there first few, QOTSA keep on producing good albums. No one song is like another and no one album is like another.

- Rock and Roll baby!
What an album. I had heard very little of QOTSA before buying this album - it was a sort of impulse buy. It turned out to be the best thing i ever did. Full of Josh Hommes own brand of rock and roll, Robot Rock - hard rock stripped back to its bare essentials with a hypnotic, trance like rythem. What a diverse and mind-blowing album. Get anything to do with josh - kyuss, the dessert sessions, anything!

- You lot are missing the point!
If you want huge riffs, and bone crushing heavyness, buy all of Kyuss's albums (which are all fantastic). If you want all of the above, plus a mixture of punk, ska, folk, country and western and every other style of music imaginable, then buy this record. Its eclecticness is what sets it apart from all of its peers, and is precisely the reason why this (and the first Queens album) is such an important, magnificent record. Don't get me wrong, I love huge riffage (and was and still am a huge Kyuss fan), but Josh Homme and the boys are taking it to a whole new level. Buy, listen without prejudice and get into the most important band around at the moment.

- fun. fun fun fun.
This album, despite being often mentioned in the same sentence as 'Madonna' or 'Relationship of Command', is remarkably unlike either of them. If Trail of Dead grew up listening to Bauhaus, then these guys were into the relentless drive of The Stooges' first album: repeating, simple chords, a cracking attitude, and an ear for a good tune. It's not all numbing relentlessness, though: check out 'Quick and To The Pointless' (dig how much Olivieri sounds like Nick Cave circa 1981) for blinding nihilistic riffage and a subtle yet totally delightful bit of vocal harmonising. This album is gleefully of no real consequence, has ridiculous words, is determinedly primitive, and it's all the better for it. If At The Drive-In are a fine bottle of Whisky, Queens of the Stone Age are a huge keg of Stella. I like them. They make me smile.
