Rating: - A nice 80ies synergy, at last...

A great mix, quite cleverly made unlike most other synergy mashups around. It combines the lyrics from the fantastic 80ies SOS Band song "The Finest" blended and pasted onto the remix by Martin Rushent of the classic Human League's "Thing that dreams are made of", which was published on an album by "The League Unlimited Orchestra" in 1981. A must hear for 80ies funk r&b fans who also liked some new wave stuff. It's a great song with some very nice roots, listen also to he originals if you can.

The song is an interpolation of "The Finest" by The SOS Band c 1986 and "The Things That Dreams Are Made Of" by The Human League, from the Dare album. (which incidentally was also used as the music for Ski Sunday some years ago.)

Two quality eighties tunes, but not too sure about this effort, although it's streets ahead of some of the other rubbish that is being regurgitated latetly.
It made me go home and put the originals on!

To the reviewer asking who the sample is on this track, it was the wonderful SOS Band back in the 80's with a track called "The Finest". Shame they didn't get Mary Davies from the SOS Band to redo the vocals but Kelis has done a good job anyway.

Another huge single from Richard X featuring great vocals from Kelis. Surely Richard X's favourite record from the 80's has to be the Human League's 'Dare'. Bits of which crop up on various other Richard X recordings.

For those of you trying to remember, yes, this single features a large slice of the League's 'Things that dreams are made of' from Dare.

Thank God for people who still know how to make quality music.Richard X has sampled some old track,and it's buggin the hell out of me and my friends tryin' to remember who it's by.I hope Kelis keeps doin' toons like this,as her voice is perfect for it.I would also recommend "Godspeed You Black Emperor" to anyone interested in music that pumps the soul.C-Ya,La Rock!
