Rating: 4 of out 5 - Changes are no Good

This isnt groundbreaking... its just really good. Probably the album of 2004 (apart from maybe 'Scissor Sisters') this album draws on its influences unashamedly and is better for it. The lyrics are brilliant as highlighted in 'Gender Bombs' and 'Animals & Insects' and when combined with the vulnerable gentleness of the vocals creates a pleasant melancholy. Genre shifts subtley from the rockier tracks like 'Lola...', jangly interpol-guitar tracks like 'Of Montreal' and uplifitng keyboard tracks like 'Yesterday never tomorrows'. Each of these styles are cleverly combined and the quality of the songs doesnt drop or erratically vary, making this album a good full listen. Having said that, aside from 'Gender Bombs' and 'Changes are no good' there arent any really mindblowingly awesome songs (hmm... dont suppose the aforementioned are that mindblowing either but you get the picture).

The Stills as a band walk a tricky tightrope between very good and dodgy heard it all before territory, true theyre nothing THAT new but they do differ from theyre new wave counterparts of today, giving us something different to listen to. The Stills are intelligent and emotional on this album, but if they get any more emotional then they might stray into ugly areas. The main danger highlighted with this album is that the Stills' main problem is that if they dont come up with something more original, then they will go down as another alternative rock cliche (like the Killers). But nonetheless this is a really good album which could take the Stills to great places.

Rating: 4 of out 5 - what happened after track 5 ???

it's a shame when you have to put the first 5 tracks on repeat, then you skip all the rest. why? those first 5 tracks display everything that is good about pop/indie, it's why we all fell in love with all those indie greats, you'll recognize it. it's melancholic, shambolic, shoe gazing stuff. they belt out melodies like they grow on trees. it's all according to the pop/indie book and it's really jangly to boot. then it falls apart, they run out of melodies or something. never mind, i have plenty of albums like that. get it, you'll probably like most of it.

Rating: 4 of out 5 - STILL listening

Can't put my finger on it, 48 hours ago I would have sworn this was nothing special; suddenly the sneaky little devil gets you, without noticing I'm humming.. no singing along, on repeat play now hooked.
Comparisons, not really helpful, thought more shoe gazy than goth, although thought I heard the cure at one point; not really smithsy, but darn catchy in that sneaky kinda way.
BUY IT PLAY AND THEN PLAY IT AGAIN!

Rating: 1 of out 5 - More of the same

I feel compelled to give my 2 pence for this boring, non-event of analbum. Why people try and predict it's some sort of current dayequivalent beginnings of Radiohead and a-like I just can't fathom?
Give me a break with this PLEASE. I might as well go out and buy somewide-boy, boy-racer drum and bass for the all creative imagination inthis. It's just verse-chorus-verse-chorus-guitar solo-chorus-end catchytune/chord drivel, which makes this an album for the unimaginative, uncultured and above all, unadventurous (oh, and did I mention CelineDijon loving...?).
I have a suggestion for a better album name:
"Ways to make your record company money with more of the same driveltunes"

Rating: 4 of out 5 - the smiths..... you must be joking??????

back in the good old days when i was a lad we used to call this Goth!!!And bugger me!! this is really rather good
