A generous 2 stars for the ballads and the opening track. After that it's just awful. I've been a fan of the Halford version of Priest for a long time. I saw them in the "Rocka Rolla" days in Doncaster at the outlook, I saw them with "Sad Wings" in Rotherham at the Scala. I've seen them annually at the City Hall in Sheffield more times than I've had hot dinners. I love them to bits...until now. This is dire, dross and dirge. It is uninspiring, unimaginative and unimpressive. I expected a lot with the return of Rob "The Gob" Halford, but sadly, this Priest is now on its knees and not Screaming for Vengeance. Fight and Halford solo ventures wipe the floor with this. It is horrible, over-hyped rubbish. Stay clear.

Rating: - Priest's Finest

This is without doubt JP's best album. There are no fillers or mediocre songs to forget (which every previous LP - even the "classics" -had 1 or 2). The classic metal style has returned, following the Ripper era, together with the flowing guitar solos. KK is a revelation.

Rating: - A triumphant return ?

I can't begin to comprehend the amount of positive press this CD gets. Apart from the opener this is metal at it's dumbest. I'm a lifelong Priest fan but after hearing Loch Ness I begin to question my loyalty (and sanity!). This was supposed to be a triumphant return to form but I've had to look elswhere for a Metal fix.

Rating: - Their Best Album Yet?

Nah; I don't think so! But that is what many people are saying. It doesn't touch Stained Class for playing, Screaming For Vengence for strong songs nor Unleashed in The East for power.

It is still a great album though, if you like that sort of thing. The fact that none of them are going to see 50 again and they totally outclass bands literally half of their age is pretty impresive also.

If you're a Priest fan - you pretty much know the formula and you will enjoy this album, even though some of it comes close to 'self parody'. If you are new to Priest; you wont go far wrong here.

Rating: - The Metal God is back with a vengeance

I originally got this album from an mp3 copy, but after listening to it a lot, I found that I had to buy the original album. This is actually one of Priest's best albums ever. The majestic opening, with the Halford scream over a catchy, heavy guitar riff will blow your head off. The track "Judas rising" is one of my top 5 Priest songs. There are a couple of slow tracks on this album, which doesn't quite match the rest. But most of the songs are excellent. If you like good heavy metal, you should buy this album.
