World of Warcraft is a massive multi-player, online role-playing game set in the Warcraft universe. 2 things I would like to say then I'll get to the review ;)

1) Why are all you ppl here posting about how WoW is better or worse than Runescape? Just pick one of the bloody games, play it FOR FUN and let every1 else decide which is best 1 for them on their own!

2) Yea WoW could ruin ur social life as it is addictive, but then again ... ITS A GAME U MORONS! Log off have fun in RL and don't worry it will still be here when u get back ..

To the review, I myself think this game is alot of fun. Has both a good balance of PvP and PvE, and a good balance of how skills and items affect the quality of your chara. With a nice amount of classes and races to choose from there is alot of scope for you to create your own unique play style.

Finally, yes Blizzard, the creators of this game, ARE money hungry and if you do play this game they WILL rob you blind. If that bothers you don't buy it, however if playin computer games helps you relax as it does me then it's well worth the money. =)

its very good
but, its less time consuming then run escape . ive played 2000 hours of it in less then a year :o
if you want to be good in a game try this one , cuz you can get 10 level 60s in the time it takes to get level 126 in run escape. these two games are both very diferent but what they share is the community, most of the hi levels in WoW and in Rs have switched back between the two.WoW and RS will both ruin your life tho RS is the 1 to watch out tho you can play over 5500 hours and not be 99 in all skills. it just goes to show how crazy people are in this world

if you want to buy wow you have to be willing to pay alot runescape on the other hand is much cheeper
iv played both and i pefer runescape
i would suggest going to www.runescape.com and trying the free verson of it if you dont like it get wow if you do pay the small fee and become member for the massive ammount of extra features

This game is amazing, but the quests are um, exactly the same and the classes are um, limited.

Runescape is an unlimited unrestricted game where you can do anythnig you want.

World of warcraft is a game that strips down runescape and makes it look pretty

This game is seriously dangerous, i've been playing since beta and i have 4 lvl 60 chars. I't seems i only play now because im addicted. Reconsider your real life before picking up this game or you might end up playing it 14 hours a day. Sure it can be great fun, but your social life suffers from this.

WoW is definetly one of the best online games i have ever played, and its going to be even better once the expansion comes out although i agree with Mycgyzer that when it does come out there will be about a billion blood elf pallies and draenei shamans.
Another thing i really like about WoW is that if like me you only play about an hour or so a day it takes about 6 months to get a charachter to level 60, and with 8 different races (10 once expansion is out)and about 10dfferenet classes the game always appeals to me. no matter how much i play it =P

definite 5/5 for World of Warcraft!

PS: i cant believe people can even BEGIN to compare runescape to this, this is about 50x better.

Warlock:These casters use demons to help them kill there opponents with shadow and fire magic these casters also love to hurt themselves as well such as one of there most powerful spells, Hellfire.

Hunter: The hunter uses beasts such as lions, tigers, gorrilas, crocodiles, and much more to aid them in a fight they also like to fight from ranged using guns and bows to fight but arent weak up close.

RACES
The Orcs: A brutal race that show no mercy to their foes(HORDE)

The Trolls: A kinda weird looking race with a jamaican style voice mon (HORDE).

The Tauren: A race that looks like a cow and man combined its a hairy looking race thats pretty peaceful(if u wanna be)(HORDE).

The Forsaken Undead: Zombies that broke free from the scourge grouped up and called themselves The Forsaken (HORDE).

The Humans: Well u know wat a human is (ALLIANCE).

The Gnomes: Short little guys with a strange interest in any gizmo they see(ALLIANCE).

RS has 1 character u make, yes u can make him mage range or melee but eventually u train them all and they merge so its really only 1 character that does em all

WoW has several classes/races to choose from:

Rogue: A stealthy assassin that kills things quickly with daggers and swords(sometimes maces)

Paladin: A holy warrior with the powers to heal and fight

Warrior: The powerful warrior that can deal out serious damage with melee

Druid: These shapeshifters can change form to heal, deal out crazy damage, travel faster, fight hard and strong like a warrior, swim, or act as a mage and fight with spells!

Mage: These casters can deal out dmg with powerful magic spells

Priest: Use holy power to heal and shadow magic 2 fight!

Shaman: Use totem poles to add effects to aid the party in a fight these shamans can also attaack by throwing lightning bolts at the enemy or with melee.

People are sayin RS has more quests i have played RS they have 200 tops WoW has at least 1000 at least 100 zones with at least 10 quests in each not including class specefic quests.
And someone said what do you do at 60 theres many things u can do ill list a few
1. MAKE A NEW CHARACTER FOR FREE therefor more abilities and a whole new way to play
2. raise your proffesions to 300
3. raise your honor to private corporal seargant knight(if a member of the alliance which reminds me of another)
4. 2 different factions horde or alliance meaning open ground PvP on PvP server no more of that having to go to wildy thingor u can duel a member of your own faction by simply clicking there portrait and clicking duel.
5. my favorite of all, PEOPLE ARE MORE MATURE thus nicer 1 of my favorite things bout WoW.

and theres more i didnt list.

MY POINT IS RUNESCAPE IS A GOOD GAME I ENJOYED IT BEFORE I WENT TO WoW, BUT WoW IS BETTER!

There are no problems with the game at all. Our son thinks it's wonderful and can't wait to play on it. The major drawback is the online membership you have to pay for every month. It's cheaper to buy the game every month than pay the fee!!!!

It took all night to download and when i thought i could play it, another download was needed that takes over 13hrs, so ive not had chance to try it yet.

Well, I finally tried it to see what all the fuss was about.
I'm a big fan of roleplay games, both computer games and tabletop, and prefer Fantasy to Sci-fi so I was surprised it had taken me so long, to be honest!

I enjoyed creating my character and got loaded into the game no problem. But then I spent hours on what were apparently 'quests'. They were all variations on a theme - go here, kill 10 of these, bring me back 10 monster teeth, or furs, or feathers. Dull, repetative nonsense.
I perservered, hoping that these were just the first missions to get you going in the game, but they just went on and on until I got bored and gave up.

Although very playable a indeed HUGE I'm sure it's okay if you have the time to dedicate to it, but for a casual gamer it's not worth the subscription fee.

many people could argue that World of Warcraft (WoW) is more addictive than hard drugs. There have been many cases of people playing this game so much that their health starts to suffer, they start failing at school, their marriages and relationships break down and they stop going out to hang out with real life friends because they are too busy raiding with their WoW friends. The reason for this level of addiction : Total Immersion

From the start players are totally immersed in the imaginary world where the 8 races fight with each other for control over land. You get full control over how to customise your character and there are many quests that will keep you busy exploring and killing everything around you.

The main focus on WoW is leveling your character. You do quests and kill enemies to gain exp in order to gain levels on your character. These levels allow you to become stronger and give you access to new weapons and Armour as well as enabling you to access more areas of the WoW which you can explore and find new things to kill and quests to complete.

The biggest downside to this is that there is a monthly subscription fee that you must pay in order to be able to play. This means you have to make the choice every month of buying a brand new game with your money or protecting your character in WoW after you've put so much time and effort into it.
