Average rating - 3.0 out of 5

Rating: 4 of out 5 - Excellent

If you are a big fan of action movies without the horrendous gore and guts that normally comes with it, this is the film for you. Christian Slater is a good good guy, but John Travolta shines as the baddie being slightly phsycotic, but fun to watch. Definitely a good film, with a decent script (not too cheesy) and good action sequences.

Rating: 1 of out 5 - Put your brain in neutral!

If the word "contrived" hadn't previously existed, it would have been invented for this film! It's as predictable as it's possible to get with so many glaring errors in the "plot" (and I use the word loosely!) that it could quite easily be classed as a comedy. The story gets dragged out time and time again by creating ridiculous situations, just to keep things going, and by the end I was actually hoping the bomb would go off and get rid of the entire cast.

I wasn't expecting a Hitchcock style thriller, but when the writers have to resort to making the baddies so dumb, that even a completely dumb "goody" can defeat them, you can't help but bang your head against the wall in frustration!

Grab a bowl of popcorn, pull up your favourite armchair ... and stare at a goldfish tank for an hour an a half! The plot will be better, the acting will be a distinct improvement, and you might actually end up caring about the characters!

Rating: 1 of out 5 - Buy the VIDEO version NOT the DVD!

First off, the aspect of the DVD is 2.35 to 1; However the of the DVD image & the Depth/height, of the Video image is 9 X 13.6 which is less than 16 X 9 Widescreen; NB. Letterbox actually works out at 16 X 7. To produce a 16.9 Widescreen version 1.95/17.82%, would need to be cropped from the Top, & or Bottom of the image, however since it is a Letterbox, version/aspect, 3.95/36.1% has been cropped from the Top, & or Bottom of the image.
As to why purchase the Video, whereas the, area/amount, cropped from the sides of the 4.3 video image = (10.95 X 1.4) 15.33
the, area/amount, UNNECESSARILY, EXCESSIVELY & VICIOUSLY cropped from the LB image = (16 X 3.95) 63.2 which is MORE than 4 times that of the 4.3 video.

Rating: 1 of out 5 - brain numbingly terrible

this has to be the most juvenile, badly written, badly directed piece of macho bullcrap ever made, seriously cringworthy nonsense,
not even worth £3.97

Rating: 4 of out 5 - Where the Baddie is Cool

If you want an action film in which the hero has a personality, and the bad guy has an even better personality, take a look at Broken Arrow. John Woo's choreographed action is not as dramatic as the Matrix-clone films that are so common today. He is great at creating interesting relationships between heroes and villains, and this film is a good example.

John Travolta is terrific. Christian Slater breaks typecast by playing a nice, sane soldier doing his duty. The love interest isn't an idiotic supermodel playing a nuclear scientist or something, but a park ranger, also doing her duty. She is cute, earthy, and actually believable.

If you want a film that will repeat every aspect of every other military adventure film you have ever seen, you will be disappointed. If dialog bores you, skip this film. If you like action movies filmed entirely in parking garages and spooky allies, then you will not appreciate the settings in this film in America's majestic West.
