Average rating - 4.5 out of 5

Rating: 5 of out 5 - Out of this world!!!I'm in love with this movie!!

That was one of the best movies ever made.So what if it does not compare to the original. This is a movie to the young/teen public. The cruelty, the deceit, the love the revenge..everything was awsome and i love the message at the end and how Sabastians loves lives forever with Annette and how his deceitfulness was something she had down herself by the end of the movies. I thought the ending was SUPERB,the perfect ending.Honestly compare this movies from other teen movies and then talk about crap, and you will soon realize that Cruel Intentions is anything but. This movie made me cry the first couple of times ,but i watch it all the time when I can. My favourite bit is the ending the song bittersweet symphony suits the ending so WELL!!This movie is perfect.

Rating: 5 of out 5 - WHAT?!?

This film is the shizzel, its frickin ace. Any of u negative non sarah michelle gellar lovers, like, oh say Mr. S. A. Brown "yentilsale1", do not deserve to watch the film. Ok, i understand that we are all entitled to our own oppinions, but you, sir, shouldnt be entitlet to voice them, keep your oppinion to yourself, or to someone who lies and pretends to understand. If youve got nothing good to say, why speak?!?

Ok, so, the film then, bloody brilliant to say the least. Acting is amazing, from everyone, especially the three main characters. The twist does really make you love the film more and more, until you cant take it anymore. And what really sets it off, (apart from the cast, and plot) is the soundtrack. So, to conclude, if you havent seen this film yet, please do! And please do not stop watching it because of the language, as it is a truly spectacular movie!

Rating: 5 of out 5 - !FAB!

This film is great, its not like your typical cheesey chick flick, where you can predict the ending after about 10mins. This film has an unexpected twist, and it really does make you want to watch it all over again. The acting is good and the plot is superb!

If you havn't already seen it, then you should because its a real feel good film.

Rating: 5 of out 5 - Brilliant

BRILLIANT

Rating: 1 of out 5 - Really pretty awful

I always feel a review should start with some positives, so on that note I will say that the cinematography in this film is genuinely impressive. Were you to watch this film with the sound turned off you might find it quite entertaining (as much as a film without the sound could be entertaining) the sets are beautiful and the camerawork is superb, it captures a marvellous "high society" feel that is about as good as a contemporary version of Les Liaisons Dangereuses could hope for. Unfortunately Ryan Philippe and Sarah Michelle Gellar are an incredibly uninspiring pair and where they may have got away with their limited talents in another movie the particularly cliched dialogue on display quickly turns the whole thing into an embarrassment for everyone involved.

In theory this is a modern interpretation of a classic piece of French literature, but in reality the film acts as a vehicle for the two leads to appear as snarly, snappy (and irritating) as possible with the original story itself becoming completely incidental to the insipid dialogue. No matter how fast the cars are they drive and no matter how many freshly sourced words from a thesaurus they utter in a desperate attempt to convince us that they're really a couple of twisted geniuses working on another plane from the rest of the characters, all they succeed in convincing us of is their own inability to act. In the original the characters visciously used sex as a weapon to degrade and humiliate those who crossed their path, in Cruel Intentions this has been reduced to the terms of your average teen comedy with predictable results - namely that the characters become impossible to respect, but due to the callous nature of their actions they become downright offensive. For this reason Cruel Intentions ranks as some of the most aesthetically insulting nonsense I've ever seen, managing to strike that perfect balance between embarrassingly poor execution and infuriatingly offensive subject matter.
