Rating: 4 of out 5 - Great Movie

When I saw this movie I was like wow this is great I didn't want to turn the channel over. Reese Witherspoon plays Annette, beautiful headmasters daughter who is seduced by Sebastian (Ryan Philippe). Kathryn (Sarah Michelle-Geller) wants her ex boyfriend back and asks Sebastian to seduce the rich girl Cecile (Selma Blair) his new fling. Sebastian and his sister make a bet, if he manages to sleep with Annette he gets to sleep with his sister Kathryn if he doesn't she wins his expensive Jaguar Roadster. Annette gives her heart to Sebastian but he finds his evil sister Kathryn has tricked him into breaking up with her and breaks her heart as well as his own. In the end it is very tear jerky as Sebastian has a fight with Kathryn's ex. Kathryn's ex throws Annette away from him as she tries to stop the fight unfortunately it is onto the road a car is coming along fast Sebastian turns out to have a heart of gold saves her and he gets hit by the car. Before he dies he tells her he loves her and she says it back. Cecile to prints journal, which tells everyone about his evil manipulative sister. Kathryn gets caught for taking coke. Annette gets his roadster and original copy of the journal, which has the title "Cruel Intentions" I think this movie, is great I enjoyed it thoroughly. I thought it was so great i want to buy it from Amazon.

Rating: 5 of out 5 - Quality

This is one of the best films i have seen. The cast is great and the acting in the film is brilliant.

Some people have said how the ending lets the film down but clearly the ending is one of its strong points.

The start of the film seems to come across as a witty comedy but towards the end it twists into something really quite special.

The music in this film is also very good and fits in perfectly with the chosen scenes.

Great film, watch it or you miss out.

Rating: 4 of out 5 - "You will be discreet about this. . .?"

Cruel Intentions has been slammed by critics, who have unfairly and unfavourably compared it with 1989's Dangerous Liaisons (both films stem from Choderlos de Laclos's novel, Les Liaisons Dangereuses). Whereas Dangerous Liaisons is fairly faithful to the original, Cruel Intentions manipulates the plot - throwing a twist in the tail - and relocates the milieu from 18th century France to the present-day Upper East Side of New York, where underneath the veneer of respectability, wealthy teenagers plot each other's downfalls.

Stepsiblings Kathryn Merteuil and Sebastian Valmont are two such teenagers. They amuse themselves by arranging reputation-destroying paybacks for those who have wronged them, and make wagers on the outcome. The focus of the movie is Sebastian's attempt to make a conquest of the Headmaster's virginal daughter, Annette (who, in a heavy-handed attempt at symbolism, wears white throughout almost the entire film).

However, the movie certainly has some memorable high points, beginning at the very outset where the camera swoops fast and low over what appears to be a grassy park studded with rocks; only after the camera angles away does the viewer realise - with some discomfort - that the park is in fact a graveyard. The opening scenes also introduce the appealing and well-judged soundtrack, which includes artists as diverse as Placebo and Fatboy Slim. The Verve's song, Bittersweet Symphony, is an absolutely perfect 'just desserts' track at the film's conclusion.

These kids are incredibly nasty and vindictive, but owing to the verbosity of the script and the almost total lack of adult chaperones appearing on screen, it is difficult at times to remember that they are only teenagers. In the end though, perhaps we just like to see someone be very, very wicked and almost get away with it.

Rating: 5 of out 5 - Sexy and enjoyable!

This film was fantastic I loved it! Not many grown-ups have much to say about this film because of its sexual and verbal contents but teenagers do. It is very inventive and Sarah Michelle Gellar was HOT! The soundtrack was great as well, which I also had to get, boy do my friends like it. I suggest people don't judge this film before viewing, you have to see it to like, or truly hate it.

Rating: 5 of out 5 - Awsome!

It's a very well conceived adaptation of the first version of the acadamy award winner film from the novel "Dangerous Liaisons" by Christopher Hampton to the modern days, which shows us an evil bet taken by Sebastian(Ryan Phillip) and Katherin(Sarah Michelle Gellar) in order to amuse themselfs in taking pleasure in others misery, only this time it backfired by the hand or heart of Annete. It's a wondurful story that can be suited in any period background, with a tragic ending always necessary to this kind of plot, showing that love can and always will wield cruelty, having the last word. The ending is superb and unespected,i enjoyed so much this that i will recomend this to everyone. You will not regret it.
